Does the following question relate to your statement? Should no one ever preach an overcoming message because no one is already an overcomer as Jesus was an overcomer?

I would agree or perhaps simply "blessed of God". Of course, everyone in some measure is blessed of God even if some or many would not admit it.

What pray tell is luck? Is there such a thing in the things that matter to God?

I hear you my friend. A person's opinion is greatly impacted by many things, not least of which is how well he is able to afford just the essentials.

Certainly this is one reason for me as well. I know a very few people I could talk about the Lord with, but none of them are close enough to visit whenever I would like to need to visit... Your father was wiser than he knew or admitted. I am admittedly the student in my marriage, but my wife...

For her it indeed was worth it. Our insurance would cover nothing, but my inheritance from my mother's death gave us the necessary money. It's all gone now, but the teeth remain.

How far have we come from what we were taught was the purpose the three branches of government for the United States: Executive, Legislative, Judicial? I say from what we were taught, because I am really not certain that it ever worked as well as the ideal was apparently supposed to work.

Of course, the courts make the final decision... or is it the people who react one way or the other who do? Granted most people keep their hands clear of things technically illegal [unless it is profitable to do it and they believe they can do it without being punished]. If discrimination exists...

Abram/Abraham was an Israelite in the same sense that you and I are children of Abraham and are Israelites. God may use the flesh, but He is always looking at the heart: "And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones...

@Guestman I checked several other translations to make sure they agreed with the following. They really do. [I don't own a New World Translation.] "Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled." Matt 5:6 [KJV] But the point is that when someone is...

From what I've seen you've done a pretty good job. I grant that it is with the Lord's help, but even if Trump may mandate something to those NFL players, God is not like that. He wants us to come to Him but He does not twist arms.

I already knew this about Gen. Lee. I also dislike much of what you describe in today's world, but fighting a battle against me on the issues of who was or was not a follower of Christ then will not help either of us. I was not alive then and did not fight for the South but all of the men in my...

Thank you for the clarification. Unfortunately even questions can have a misleading or even a negative purpose. This was not made clear either in the title of the thread or in the OP. We are to live by faith which is described here: Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the...

Thank you my friend. I do always need prayer.

Consider that this book, Ecclesiastes speaks to us of the ways of man when he dwells without God. In the case of a Spirit filled believer this book also describes a person who is following the "old man" mentioned by the apostle Paul. We should not, but we do quench the Holy Spirit of God in us...

All of us my friend believe that we see things better than others or we would not stay where we are: "Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the LORD pondereth the hearts." Prov 21:2 God does show me things as He surely also shows you things. Hopefully we both pray that God will be...

Keep on working twinc at God's work. Ask Him for help all of the time.

You need to talk to the Lord my friend and let where you are coming from be revealed to your own heart.

You should also be careful that you do not call inspiration of the Holy Spirit, satanic inspiration. That would sound more to me to me like blasphemy against the Holy Spirit than the other. Perhaps not knowing better, we would be best to remain silent rather that presuming to arbitrarily...

Every time two believers disagree is there not some babbling involved? People who understand less than every message God has given to them or all of the message God has give to them through the scripture are confused in the measure that they do not understand. God is not the author of...
