The Myth of saying that Jesus Christ died for all men without exception !

God often speaks figuratively. In a recent OT reading God said he would kill all of a group of people. In the very next verse he talked about what would happen to the surviving remnant. Doesn't this mean that when God says all, he means part? (In the alternative, he may have mean the nation -...

For free will believers out there

The 'temple' referred to Solomon's temple the previous 500 times that word was used. His audience did not even grasp he was not making a literal statement. The desperation of trinitarianism is shown in the fact that in the same verse that uses 'temple' figuratively, it is desired another word be...

For free will believers out there

My God man! I provided the relevant Scripture! Acts 17:31. Sad reliance on a figurative verse to go against a literal verse. Jesus is a man. Acts 17:31 could not be more literal, explicit or clear. (It's just that it goes against your theology). What do you have to say about the relevant verse...

    Once Saved Always Saved

Agreed. While I admit there are verses in support of both positions, I side with Jesus talking about salt losing its flavor and vines that don't produce fruit are destined for fire. I do find the ex post facto reasoning of OSAS ironic; that if someone who was saved turns their back on God, they...

For free will believers out there

Jesus is not any kind of God. Phil 2:5 says he is in the form of God, which applies to us all per GE 1:26, all of us are in the likeness (form) of God. Having said that, the man Jesus was humble. The verse below clearly says God raised this man from the dead. (It does not say God incarnate...

Why is there so much confusion regarding the teachings of the Bible?

John 14:6 is one of my favorite verses in Scripture! While I agree with your general point, "only" is not in the text. You answered your own question very well below. In another thread, we talked about babies and those who have not heard the Good News. The only other point I'd make in the...

    What purpose does it serve?

Not enslaving my grandkids. Our society is so decadent, we kill our own children and those we don't kill, we enslave via the public debt. Since high school, nearly 4 decades ago, it is my over-riding public policy metric. Since then, the debt has gone up by a factor of 6x. It is an exponential...

    1 Peter 2:24 = Hebrews 13:8

Jesus is not God. Jesus is the servant of God. NOTE: God, in his unitarian nature, chose and sent Jesus to suffer, a prophet who God put his words in. See Deuteronomy 18:15-18. The man-is-God thesis is not found in Scripture. It is a 4th century man-made construct. 18 God was at work in all...

Does it concern you that gospels were written so many years after Jesus died?

saintiaint is confusing journalism, writing about a current event, with history, writing about the past after transitions have been made to other forms. With respect to Christ, the Great Commission was not to write one hell of a history book. The Great Commission is to spread the Good News of a...

    What purpose does it serve?

Not that I know of in any circles I travel in. Think Venn Diagram. I happen to be more politically active than I am in religious spheres. But we are not all called to do the same thing. Paul wrote about how a foot is still part of the body even though it is not a mouth. Carry on soldier.

I'm so sorry. My wife was robbed in her car a few years ago. Very scary.

The Myth of saying that Jesus Christ died for all men without exception !

In light of 1 Peter 1:1 7 & Ephesians 1:4 and this, that is a tough argument to make. The Judgment against Pharaoh informs us God 'hardened his heart' on numerous occasions, meaning he was not acting on his own free will but at God's direction. This is a matter of Scripture that is a tough teaching.

    The Case Against the Trinity

You do know there is no distinction between being and person, right? That is a trinitarian construct. Jesus said he was going to his God. That is the only God. Jesus' God is the only God. He is Spirit and his Spirit is holy. There is no 3rd being or person. However, the passion people have is...

Does it concern you that gospels were written so many years after Jesus died?

"Writing about" ≠ History. It takes a while for a big event to transition from a current event into history. Consider the life of Moses, which can be put into roughly 3 categories: 40 years as Eqyptian prince; 40 years in exile; 40 years leading the Israel nation to the promised land. In which...

    some questions

I've said it several times lily. The questions you have are not specific to women. It's kind of like saying Black Lives Matter. Well, yes, All Lives Matter. You think Genesis 2:24, which explicitly applies to men, is not a question or problem men have? If you are making the argument that these...
