I posted this in another thread, but it seems to fit well over here too. One of the best sermons on salvation that I've heard. Michael Heiser (RIP) was an ancient language scholar by trade, but he is also a wonderful gospel preacher.

I have my own answer of course. I'm not sure what other answer there could be. The Spirit of God is what makes us the children of God. But the term "christian" doesn't really carry the same weight it once did, if any. Anyone can apparently call themselves a Christian these days.

Atheists want evidence, or so they say. But the best evidence for God, has and always will be the changed lives of those who have come to know Him personally. My life is one of those lives, no further evidence required. I've never been much of an apologist, but I do have an amazing testimony.

I guess that would depend on what the poster means by "Christian". It costs nothing to walk an aisle and say a prayer. That might be enough for some to consider themselves Christian. But to truly believe in Jesus Christ is another thing altogether.
