How can there be life after death?

That’s right. If we’re persuaded that’s what they did, then let’s toss our Bibles in the trash can and follow whatever “mythological Jesus” we cook up. Or throw in with the atheist. The Jesus the New Testament documents and discusses had a very real impact on the apostles and disciples of that...

How can there be life after death?

Knowing that the NT writers tell us that he was begotten, and knowing what being begotten means, what is your answer to your question? I’m asking you to tell me, Was Jesus created?

How can there be life after death?

With that knowledge you’re able to answer your question for yourself, without any input from me. To Jesus, too. Replace “God” with “Father”. I understand that. It’s something that you need to work on. I agree. But what difference does it make if the historical reliability is questioned...

How can there be life after death?

Alarm. Alarm. The fact that we have to go back to the Council of Chalcedon rather than to the Bible to answer the question should set off an alarm.

How can there be life after death?

I’ve been campaigning for years to have churches teach the creeds to their congregations. What might happen if they did?

How can there be life after death?

Excellent. That is the very word that should have caused you to ask the question. What does it mean to be begotten? So when you hear or read “God” you hear or read “the Trinity”? In post #168 you wrote, “Jesus and God.” Jesus and the Trinity? Who told you that? Did the Bible tell you...

How can there be life after death?

That takes us back to the Council of Chalcedon, 451 AD. Does Christianity ask him to?

How can there be life after death?

What was it in what I said that caused you to ask that? God and God? Who is God? In trinitarian theology, he isn’t a god. The testimony of scripture is that the miracles actually did happen. Now we are back to the issue of evidence. And if we aren’t going to believe the Bible, what are we...

How can there be life after death?

Jesus was begotten. By God. Circa 4 BC. Scripture assigns multiple titles to him. Do you think he is a god? I think that’s probably true. Ask them if it is or isn’t the historical doctrine.

    QUOTE for the day

“Every sunrise is another gift from God and another opportunity to live faithfully. Don’t just coast through today. Run your race with endurance, fight sin, love Christ, serve others, and keep your eyes on the finish line.” - Scott Roberts

How can there be life after death?

It means God is his father. If I recall correctly (and I might not), you attended a Baptist Church when you were younger. An article from a Baptist theologian for your consideration: https://www.reasonablefaith.org/writings/question-answer/was-christ-a-divine-human-person/ The bad old days...
