Jesus, the apostles and the disciples - for the first three centuries of Christian history - weren’t anything at all like the pope and the crusaders. The ethical teachings of Jesus were not accurately reflected in the ethical teachings of the pope.

Do what they did. The earliest Christians did. Some Christians throughout history have done so too. The crusaders didn’t. You haven’t killed any Muslims yet. Good! Don’t start now. And don’t teach others to kill Muslims.
