    Reason for The Crusades explained

I‘ve been quoting the historical record extensively -> Christians in the Ante Nice period (and before) did not kill their enemies. Christians in the Nicene period (and after) did kill their enemies. When you listen to Paul say, “We do not use the weapons of the world,” what do you hear?

    Reason for The Crusades explained

Neither Jesus, nor the Apostles, killed for Caesar; neither did they teach followers of Jesus to kill for him. The words of Peter, though spoken in a different context, are applicable here: ”We must obey God rather than man.”

    Reason for The Crusades explained

“The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world.” - Paul Do you know the account of Bishop James of Nisibis? I’ll go over it for my readers when I return home this evening.

Could you describe for me the killing of enemies done by the Apostles?

    Reason for The Crusades explained

The reasons for the Crusades was exhausted in post #1, which alluded to reasons against them. Discussing both sides of the issue is necessary.

    Reason for The Crusades explained

An Apostle replies, ”The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world” (2 Corinthians 10:4). Choosing wisely is choosing to be like Jesus. He killed neither his enemies nor his brothers. ”Teach them to obey everything that I have taught you.” - Jesus

    Reason for The Crusades explained

I recall a fictional story about a man who, during a prayer service at his church for blessing and protection of Christian military personnel serving his country during a time of war, suddenly felt the urge to pray for blessing and protection of Christian military personnel serving the country...

    Reason for The Crusades explained

“Even Clement of Alexandria, who had given such a vigorous condemnation of Christian involvement in the military (‘For it is not in war, but in peace, that we are trained.’) gives a qualified acceptance of the Christian in the army. … This provisional acceptance of the peaceful military officer...

    Reason for The Crusades explained

“In the third century, a minister named Hippolytus … listed twenty-four forbidden or restricted vocations for believers in his book, Apostolic Traditions. … The most pervasive restriction was against occupations that involved violence. Eight of the twenty-four involved brutality, including...

    Reason for The Crusades explained

@Wrangler you have had over 12 hours to identify the 12 people you were alluding to. You are concealing that information from me and from your other readers. Why? That information would help us evaluate your claim.

    Reason for The Crusades explained

I’m not a security expert but it doesn’t take a security expert to see how easy it would be for someone posing as a Christian and having the intention of killing you and / or other members of your concealed identity church to get past your gunmen stationed at each doorway without harming them...

    Reason for The Crusades explained

Concealing the name of the church you attend from your audience isn’t something to be proud of. It‘s a powerful witness against you.

    Reason for The Crusades explained

It’s true that there is a time for all of these things, isn’t it? There isn’t much peace in the world. History is filled with the curse of war and killing. Christianity is fractured and fragmented on the issue of Christians killing their enemies -> enemies of Christians being fellow...

    Reason for The Crusades explained

According to @Wrangler and his concealed identity church … does it seem normal to you that someone would refuse to identify the name of the church they attend? ... Jesus, the Apostles, and all of the followers of Jesus were armed, ready to.“ History documents that they weren’t and didn’t. It...

    Reason for The Crusades explained

I’ve acknowledged the thread title, multiple times. That’s not true. That’s not even logical. Yet another assertion that isn’t true. Of course I can cope with it. I’ve spent and am spending a great deal of time examining the history and your false narrative about it. I’m reading a book...
