I’m sorry to hear that. I didn’t know.

Jesus is the Son of his God

You should. It‘s the Messiah’s form of monotheism. Your form monotheism is post-biblical. If you are persuaded that the church got it right when it gradually moved away from the monotheism of Israel then your right where you should be. Jesus is the ideal Israelite. He didn’t get anything...

Jesus is the Son of his God

Keep chasing your tail. I’ve documented using trinitarian sources and scripture that the Messiah’s God is the one God of Israel. The Messiah himself is God, only within the constraints of Jewish monotheism. Jesus monotheism is the monotheism of Israel. Your form of monotheism is not.

Jesus is the Son of his God

No one has made that formulation. The Messiah’s God is Yahweh. Yahweh wasn’t influenced by anyone. He was.

Jesus is the Son of his God

The founder of Christianity is Jesus of Nazareth. You will see if will that his creed is the creed of Judaism. God is not Jewish. The Messiah is Jewish. You know that the Messiah’s God is only one person. You know that is the fundamental belief of Jewish unitary monotheism.

Jesus is the Son of his God

If you believe that Jesus was influenced by Hellenism then please say it plainly.

Jesus is the Son of his God

No, I would not. I do not and never have had any form of OCD. What you asked tells me a lot about you. Thank you. What that tells me is that you have a deficient knowledge of church history / Christianity. The founder of Christianity is Jewish. His religion is Judaism, which has been...

Jesus is the Son of his God

I had no intention of quoting it again in this thread but due to the comment about an alleged connection of yachid with the Shema by the Jews, I am going to post it in this thread. “1. The one God. (a) theos is the most frequent designation of God in the NT. Belief in the one, only, and unique...

Jesus is the Son of his God

Here is the bottom line, no matter what a believing or an unbelieving Jew might say. Jesus of Nazareth, the Messiah, Son of the living God, must have the final word. The Shema is the creed, his creed, about his God. His God is echad. There is no plurality in the God and Father of the lord Jesus...

Jesus is the Son of his God

https://lastmessageofmercy.com/article/view/deuteronomy-64-doesnt-scripture-used-the-hebrew-word-echad-to-refer For anyone who might be interested, I just finished reading this article. I don’t know who the author is, nor do I know what else this ministry promotes. What I can say is that this...

Welcome back @2bme. You’ve been away for a long time. I was becoming concerned about you. It’s good, and a relief, to see you posting again.

Jesus is the Son of his God

Watch as the cantor covers his eyes at the 0:50 mark in the video and listen his words. He is leading the congregation in reciting the Shema. Does he say yachid? No. He says echad. If Moses himself had been there and heard the cantor and the congregation he would have nodded in agreement. So...

Jesus is the Son of his God

What are the Jews teaching their children? Yachid? Listen to what this Jewish child says. Echad. It has always been echad, and it will always be echad.

Jesus is the Son of his God

An Israeli soldier reciting the Shema before going into combat. Once again, listen carefully. He absolutely says echad, not yachid. The scripture has not been changed.

Jesus is the Son of his God

A Jewish man with phylactery chanting the Shema. Listen carefully and you will hear him very clearly say echad, not yachid.

Jesus is the Son of his God

The Shema is the Messiah’s own creed. His God is the Father, and no other. His God and Father is echad, not yachid.

Jesus is the Son of his God

I’ve heard that argument before. I might be mistaken but I think you’re speaking about Maimonides. https://judaismresources.net/2015/12/17/echad-vs-yachid-excerpt-from-supplement-to-contra-brown/ If the famous rabbi you have in mind is someone else, please let me know. Rabbi Jesus of...

Jesus is the Son of his God

There is no connection in the Shema with the Hebrew word yachid. At the 0:54 mark in the video I’ve linked, the Hebrew word is highlighted in red and pronounced aloud. The word is unquestionably echad, not yachid. When a Jewish monotheist recites the Shema, - as Jesus himself would have done...

Jesus is the Son of his God

Jewish monotheism doesn’t make the claim that the Shema speaks only of one / yachid elohim. Jewish monotheism makes the claim that the Shema speaks only of one / echad elohim. Yachid isn’t applied to the God of Israel in scripture. Yahweh is echad, never yachid. I’ve addressed all of these...
