When Jesus said, “there is none good but one, that is, God.” did He mean nobody could be good?

So, death isn't a consequence of sin? Death is natural to human life just as it is to the other animals?

When Jesus said, “there is none good but one, that is, God.” did He mean nobody could be good?

Then Jesus' earthly life would have ended in death whether He chose to die or not?

When Jesus said, “there is none good but one, that is, God.” did He mean nobody could be good?

God didn't create everything and call it good but us. God created human nature. God created it to be what He intends. Like everything He created. Why would God create human perfection if He intends humans to be flawed? The flawed nature created first then? God leads perfect life up to higher...

When Jesus said, “there is none good but one, that is, God.” did He mean nobody could be good?

If He came here imperfect ie; corrupt. How is it that He can save Himself? How can someone death has a grip on conquer death?;How is it that He can choose to die?

When Jesus said, “there is none good but one, that is, God.” did He mean nobody could be good?

So you think one must be imperfect to be made more perfect?. Yeah sure he was. That's why Jesus loved him. Oy vey. You keep quoting scripture ad if they mean the same thing to us. This is not a constructive discussion. You think Scriptures can convert people? I'm done subjecting myself to...

When Jesus said, “there is none good but one, that is, God.” did He mean nobody could be good?

Jesus was not quoting Psalms 16:2. That's a sinners acknowledgement of God as the source of good. Clever to teach that Jesus is a sinner for teaching the same. Jesus isn't allowed to teach that if He is God?

When Jesus said, “there is none good but one, that is, God.” did He mean nobody could be good?

You don't understand the proper use of scripture. For Scripture to be authoritative agreement on interpretation is required. The psalms you post don't mean to me what they mean to you. You should know Scripture is not a useful tool to convert those who don't believe what you believe.

When Jesus said, “there is none good but one, that is, God.” did He mean nobody could be good?

He didn't reject it. Saying that only God is Good is not the same as saying " I am not good" and"I am' not God".. You need to add that. The rich man was being drawn to Jesus. It's likely He was recognizing Christ's divinity. He could say to Jesus' face " I have obeyed the commandments" . Not...

When Jesus said, “there is none good but one, that is, God.” did He mean nobody could be good?

If Jesus wasn't perfect He couldn't say "follow me". If Jesus never sinned how does one know whether or not He is Good? Was what He did good because He did it? Did He choose good from evil like we do.

When Jesus said, “there is none good but one, that is, God.” did He mean nobody could be good?

Even a prophet can't claim himself a prophet. The Incarnation is something only heaven can reveal. No one will believe an earthly source. No one can know Jesus unless they be drawn by the Father.

When Jesus said, “there is none good but one, that is, God.” did He mean nobody could be good?

Jesus asked why the man called Him good. He didn't deny it. He used this incident to sublimely hint at His divinity. As it wasn't something He could just come out and say. The Jews got the hint. Don't know why you don't.

When Jesus said, “there is none good but one, that is, God.” did He mean nobody could be good?

I understand you're projecting. That you need to open your heart to Jesus. Jesus didn't inherit death like you and I. Jesus wouldn't have died if we didn't kill Him. He CHOSE to die .We can't choose to die. That's why His death is a Sacrifice. Jesus came down from heaven. If that were not true...

When Jesus said, “there is none good but one, that is, God.” did He mean nobody could be good?

Jesus didn't come to be our Savior. He came as our Savior. The glory seen at the Transfiguration was His at birth. John describes it as the Glory of an only son full of grace and truth.

When Jesus said, “there is none good but one, that is, God.” did He mean nobody could be good?

My bad. I meant we make choices between good and evil. Sorry about that!

When Jesus said, “there is none good but one, that is, God.” did He mean nobody could be good?

We do this or that because it's good. If we were good this or that would be good because we did it.

    I will send my messenger

The Jewish people will believe their witness. The Apostles recognized who they were without ever seeing them before. :)

    Is Reincarnation baloney?

It happens that the memory of a past life can be recalled in a current life. I believe that phenomenon is a remnant of the unity and perfection of intellect, imagination, memory, intended. Human life without sin and death. I think that it's a tendency that comes from our fallen state to conclude...

    Spotting Heretics

I have to disagree with Marymog. Neither of you believe that the Bible is corrupt but neither of you believe it is expressed without the inherent corruption of the sinner teaching it. The truth that Marymog is seeing is that both of you treat Sacred Scriptures as if you're able to receive it...
