    Importance of Prayer

Getting a job is useful. it's important. It's necessary. It's good. Same with passing college classes. Another example (a little different): getting married is good, and we really want it. Companionship is really sought after, it's helpful, it's just a good thing.So...I've been trying to...

    Deism

In light of another answer I got on another forum, this makes sense. I'll have to think it through a bit to some conclusions.

    Deism

I've been reading Norman Geisler's "Christian Apologetics". In each chp. he discusses a worldview, giving some history, basic tenets, good things about it, what is lacking, and a final summary. (I'm actually quiet pleased at how much philosophy it covers and not just concrete, boring facts...

Does OT Isreal = NT Church?

Always wondered this. Seems to me to be the same thing, but pretty much no one agrees with me. I want to study it a little, so some different views from different people will give me a starting point, a point of reference. My own view might be skewed all by itself.

Pick and choose from each religion

A high school student I was substitutuing yesterday said something like "I take all the good things from each religion. name a religion". A girl named Islam, and he admitted he didn't know much about Islam, then the bell rang.Could we please dicuss why this view, "pot luck religion"- choose...

    Compassion in Old Testament

But what about specefic acts of compassion? Like when Elisha blinded all those guys, led them into Samaria, fed them all, then let them go. I need specefic acts of kindness and compassion.

    Compassion in Old Testament

People always seem to see "the God of the OT" as a "God of Wrath". A boy today in a class I was substituting said, " 'I like God. He's compassionate!' then I remember the OT!".Can I please get as many examples from the OT of God's compassion.1) Try for examples of compassion to gentiles esp...

    Imperfect Faith

"It's not the "who" or "what" is your faith in, but is that faith complete and authentic."- my own words. Let me clerify, because they even scared me whn I fiorst read them. It is the "who", and that's Jesus. But now how does God accept imperfect faith in Jesus as saving faith? That's what I...

    Imperfect Faith

"I'm curious where that is in scripture"- me too, simply because there's a millineum's worth of interpretations of the end times. "You accept Christ is our savior..."- how does God accept a half-hearted commitment, for before we're saved, we can do no good, hence we can't accept Him fully, aka...

    Imperfect Faith

This might've been presented and discussed before-How can an unsaved person's imperfect faith attain them salvation?

    Confused about basics of Greek

I'm teaching myself Greek. I'm using William Mounce's "Basicsof Biblical Greek". He saysit'simperative (and I agree) to learn the stem of each word (Logos, stem is logo). My problem: how do you get the stem? I mean, if the word Logo is the stem, that's cool, because there's no nominative...

    "let"

Question-Psalm 5:11- But "let" all them who take refuge in you be glad, "let" them sing for joy;Why does the pslamist here use the word "let", when, if you were to take refuge in Him, you'd think you'd be glad anyway? You think singing for Joy (aka praising Him[I'm guessing])would be the point...
