First of all I was just reading in Psalms about a lie-baby and I was just wondering what that meant, and second of all,.. since this came out of my testimony thread about doubt,.. how is it that Thomas saw Jesus standing before him and still he needed to touch His scars to find out if He had truly risen? I mean,.. what exactly was going through his head? Was he in disbelief due to shock?

I'm not sure about what Psalms you are referring to.

Christ told Thomas to do these things, though it never says he did those things :)

Jhn 20:24 But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came.
Jhn 20:25 The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe.
Jhn 20:26 And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you.
Jhn 20:27 Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.
Jhn 20:28 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.

Jesus shows up Thomas isn't there. Thomas says,, unless I do these things I'm not believing.

Jesus shows up... Thomas is there... Jesus says... Hey Thomas, even though I wasn't physically in the room when you said what you said, I'm going to prove to you just by saying what you said, while I wasn't here...

Thomas didn't need to do anything. Jesus already proved he "Heard" him.

That's what convinced Thomas..
In my honest opinion..

What Psalm?

Psalm 7:14,.. but it also seems like Thomas still doubted though and my question is why if Jesus was standing right there before him?

Psalm 7:14,.. but it also seems like Thomas still doubted though and my question is why if Jesus was standing right there before him?

Psa 7:11 God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.
Psa 7:12 If he turn not, he will whet his sword; he hath bent his bow, and made it ready.
Psa 7:13 He hath also prepared for him the instruments of death; he ordaineth his arrows against the persecutors.
Psa 7:14 Behold, he travaileth with iniquity, and hath conceived mischief, and brought forth falsehood.
Psa 7:15 He made a pit, and digged it, and is fallen into the ditch which he made.

NLT: The wicked conceive evil;
they are pregnant with trouble
and give birth to lies.

So I hear Jesus say it this way:

Mat 15:18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.
Mat 15:19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:

The conceiving evil is the thoughts of the heart, and if left unchecked they will turn into an action of doing them.
Enough hatred of something can lead you to harming or killing whatever you hate.

Okay, so what about the second thing I said then?

Once Tomas saw Christ, Thomas no longer doubted:

“My Lord and my God!” Thomas exclaimed. John 20:28*

Psalm 7:14*

The wicked conceive evil;
they are pregnant with trouble
and give birth to lies.

@Ziggy Searching verses there...
I had to find the context..
You have 2 choices. tell the truth or lie.
You have to conceive the lie first.. hmm, what am I going to say? how am I going to get out of this?
I know.. I'll just say this and that.. and no one will know.
And you actually have to build a whole story to support that lie.
And then you tell it, and your challenged and you have to make another lie to cover the first lie..
until you don't even remember what the truth was you lied about..

I had a brother who was a pathelogical liar. I loved him anyways..
I didn't talk to him for years and one day my dad called and said he was gone.
I think somewhere along the way Jesus found him, because I remember him
explaining why he was wearing a cross and ... it's been a long time..
some things are too foggy..
It's always better to tell the truth. Even if it hurts it can be forgiven. But lies just grow and grow and grow..
sometimes there is no return..

Thank You farouk

You are trying to lure us into your ready-made ideas and answers to your self-made questions.

<<. . . this came out of my testimony thread about doubt,..>>

Obviously

<<how is it that Thomas saw Jesus standing before him and still. . .>> doubted, you really mean to say. You PRESUME Thomas in that situation at that particular time, gave the same testimony of doubt as YOUR <<testimony of doubt>>.

<<he needed to touch His scars to find out if He had truly risen?>> Further, pure, assumptions your own!

Who says Thomas <<needed to touch>>? No one but you.
Who says Thomas <<needed to touch ... to find out if He had risen?>>? No one but you.
Who says <<His scars>>? No one but you.

What must have gone through Thomas' head BEFORE the situation at that point in time and event?

<<Was he in disbelief due to shock?>> Delayed shock perhaps? If delayed shock, WHY delayed? You can't just ASSUME Thomas was shocked THEN or in that situation looking at Jesus standing before him. You cannot just say (write) that Thomas was shocked.

If I told you that Thomas was not shocked but consoled, how would you prove me wrong, and you, right? If you had Scripture perhaps you could. But you haven't used any Scripture yet.
