There is a woman in my town who seems to pry with my private life, and posted my son's picture on Facebook (without my consent) for drama purposes. Now she's asking personal questions about me and my family. She made my mother uncomfortable. We don't want that.

I just pray that God will establish a boundary for protection and get her busy on her own stuff, because she's harmed us before with her social media outlet, and this town is fluttering with gossip.

Otherwise, I will want to move elsewhere and so does my mom.

As has been prayed for you, you too can pray the same prayer for this woman, that God would draw her into His loving embrace so that she would know His love just for her and his purposes for her to bring blessing to all of the people she may interact with on a daily basis so that she become a witness for God as to how people should interact with each other as they are doing God's intended business just for them.

Then after praying the above prayer, start thanking and Praising God that He has heard your prayer for this woman and is already working to show His Glory through this woman as He draws her into His loving purposes.

You can also praise and thank God that He is changing your heart towards this woman and encouraging you to also be a blessing for her in your acts of kindness towards her.

Shalom

PS: - What God is interested in, is our responses when we are faced with circumstance that are not welcomed by us. It is our responses within these circumstances and not the circumstances that we find ourselves in that God looks for as our character is grown to become more loving towards others.

Shalom

PS: - Ps: - Remember our patience with God and God's speed to quietly bring about change does not always mesh well at all. Patience is a key for us to work on.

Please remember that you can share as little as you want when she prys. You don't have to answer her fully.

Also, you can ask her to take your son's photo off of her Social Media.

Once something is on social media, it's a level of privacy not recoverable except God does it. FB is evil. She may be able to report the photo...maybe?? But what's done is done. This woman seems to be driven by demonic inspiration. I would pray (for her, and against satanic schemes), and seek God's guidance about moving.

I agree facebook is evil. I've watched Zuckerberg mentally go downhill into a fantasy world of AI and vision goggles saying it is a cure for loneliness. weird guy.
Unfriend this woman or go to settings and limit sharing. Then she'll wonder why she doesn't see activity anymore.

Fluffy, If God is drawing you to Himself, then I have no need to tell you to be in communion with the Lord about everything, placing before Him all of your concerns and your desires to run away from a developing problem in your life, to seek His advice and direction as to what you should be doing within your circumstances.

My experience is that when I run/move away from a problem, I discover that no matter how much space I put between me and that Problem, that the problem I had, actually followed me to the new location I had chosen to live in. The reality was that by moving, I had not made anything better in my life and I had to face the fact that I had stopped trusting God being my shield and protection which showed me that I had turned away from God and taken things into my own hands.

Now that does not stop God's leading for you to move to another town, but if God gives you that leading, then follow His leading. If God gives you the leading to be still and to remain where you are presently living, then follow His leading and remain put, trudtimh Him for His protection from any harm for your or your family.

As God continues to draw you to Himself, may you become more secure in your relations with the Lord, so that shadows do not cause you to become anxious and fearful, so that your faith and trust in the Lord will not be diminished because of your surrounding circumstances.

May you become more secure in your relationship with your God so that fear loses its grip on your life.

Shalom

Thank you for your post, and the wise advice of others.

Although Jesus calls us to be gentle and peaceful, it does not mean we have no recourse to bullying. Instead:

15 “If another believer sins against you, go privately and point out the offense. If the other person listens and confesses it, you have won that person back. 16 But if you are unsuccessful, take one or two others with you and go back again, so that everything you say may be confirmed by two or three witnesses. 17 If the person still refuses to listen, take your case to the church. Then if he or she won’t accept the church’s decision, treat that person as a pagan or a corrupt tax collector. (Matthew 18.)

What works for a church can be applied to a community. The idea is to start with 1 v 1 persuasion, and if that does not work, gather support from your community.

May God be with you.

Peace.

I don't think she's an evil person. I think she just might define her self worth based on other people's involvement, but the way she made it sound she's been keeping a close eye on all of us. It's weird.

@Rockerduck
I never saw the post because I don't have FB. The only reason I knew about it was because her post led to my son being brought home by the sheriff. He was being attacked by kids (who beat him up before for standing up for his faith) and was trying to keep them away.

But her post made it look like it was him.

After reading this, maybe this woman is evil. Her actions certainly are evil. This sounds like some of the stuff my relatives would have done.

I can't say for sure. One of my relatives decided they won't deal with her. I feel a little more peace about it.

I really wish there were more things for people to do in this community, because even in the churches, there is a gossiping problem.

It's like stop being bored

Why not address her directly?

If that doesn't work, put out a restraining order against her. And being she likes to spread your business, make copies and post the restraining order paperwork, with her picture, since she posted your son's picture without your permission, attached to the poster.

Picture, copy of restraining order. Put it up all over town. Phone poles, Laundromat, etc ...

Say again?
Because doing that would not glorify Jesus and it would be sin, because it would come from a heart of resentment and a desire to discourage - and God is a God of peace.

I don't want to harm anyone. I just want God's peace. So my peace doesn't come from what she is doing, it comes from relying on God's spirit.

OK, don't plaster the restraining order publicly.

I think if you were planning on relying solely on God's Spirit, you wouldn't have asked people their advice in this forum. You'd have relief on God alone.

And you don't want to discourage her actions?

Uh huh.

I didn't ask for advice. Just prayer. You're in the prayer subforum.

I know what forum this is. You have received advice. It's inevitable.
Thank you for the advice. It's just I know three things from the Bible:

1. "But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken."

2. "If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat; if he is thirsty, give him water to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head, and the LORD will reward you."

3. "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God."

If I should suffer someone, then I should suffer for what is good, then I will be rewarded in Heaven, as will others who will do the same as what Jesus taught.
