“If you could ask the Apostle Paul one question, what would it be?”

"What did you mean by "the works of Torah?"

"When you wrote the words pistis Christou, did you mean 'faith IN Christ' or 'Christ's faith'?"

"What is the relationship between the teachings Christ gave to His disciples and salvation by grace through faith?"

"Does Romans 8:30-39 imply OSAS?"

"What's your position on Pre-Tribulation Dispensational Eschatology?"

"What did Luther and Calvin get right, and what did they get wrong?"

Wait, you said only ONE question?

My one question to Paul is much simpler than yours. What I especially like about your “package” of questions is that it well illustrates what Peter was talking about when he said Paul’s writings contain some things which are difficult to understand (2 Peter 3:16) - which might factor in as the answer to my question for Paul.

Apart from that, why did Pastor Bitterman put the question to his readers?

“If you could ask the Apostle Paul one question, what would it be?”

I'd ask him what he thought of all the people that have made an idol out of him claiming to follow his teachings while ignoring Jesus' teaching claiming Jesus was teaching the law of Moses to the Jews so Christians should ignore the teachings of Jesus (sounds strange but I've seen people making this claim)

Paul of course had something to say about this:

1 Timothy 6:3-5
If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;
He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,
Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

Paul would in fact be correcting these people pointing them to what Jesus said:

Luke 16:16
The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.

Welcome to the forum.

Good question. I hope he wouldn’t mind me eavesdropping.

Thank you.

I'm pretty sure the Apostle Paul would not be welcomed in most churches today.
I doubt Jesus would be either. Both had some hard sayings that would upset the people.
Yes, not unlike the prophets before them, the apostles, and many who are sent, all of whom suffered ridicule and persecution.

Well they were Jews so they deserved it right?
Many are being racist and hateful towards the Jews these days as you may have noticed.

That hatred is in you. A form of reverse prejudice..

As for the many, not all but many rightly hate as God also hates what is not true, but counterfeit. They are not reacting to God or His chosen, but to the lies, and reacting to what ought not to be. In other words, if it were not for false teachers within the early church, those who would have taught according to what Jesus taught, would have embraced the workings of God among the gentiles giving thanks for having been entrusted with the same teaching among the gentiles, with reverence unto those who delivered to them the foundational works leading up to the coming of Christ, praying for their descendants among them who would need their support to have suffered that loss of their inheritance, as brothers in Christ as new wine in new wine skins wherein there is neither Jew or gentiles, etc...actually.

It was a rhetorical question.
I'm not the one hating on Jews expressing support for moslems to destroy Israel.
I was not referring to your rhetorical question, but your comment, wherein your own hatred is expressed.

As I already explained, what you are seeing is NOT hatred of the Jews per se, but hatred of acts against God and man, not by all who call themselves Jews, but by those among them who have stolen their heritage for political gain.

You said:

Then I said:
Well they were Jews so they deserved it right? which was a rhetorical question.

It's pretty comical that you don't know what a rhetorical question is and think I'm a Jew hater and one that supports moslems in their quest to destroy the Jews. Thanks for the chuckle!

It's NOT pretty comical that I knew well enough that you were being rhetorical and said so, but you then criticize.

But that wasn't my point. And now it is obvious you don't even have a clue what I was talking about, because I was not thinking you were a Jew hater, at all. On the contrary, I wasn't just thinking that at all, but responding to the fact that you are apparently unaware that you yourself are showing your own hatred for those you have wrongly accused, for they do not hate the Jews, but hate those pretending to be Jews.

Do you not know there is a difference between a Jew and someone only pretending to be a Jew?

If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;
Precious friend, you do realize of course, That Scriptures Explains Which "Wholesome Words"
This Refers To,
eh? - ie:

A) How did Paul "preach Jesus Christ" and His Revelation Of "Wholesome Words" To him?
Was it not?:

1) "Now to Him That is of Power To Stablish you According to my [ Grace ] Gospel, and
the preaching of Jesus Christ, According To The Revelation of the Mystery, which
was kept secret () since the world began" (Romans 16:25 AV)
+
2) Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is This Grace Given, that I should
preach among the Gentiles the Unsearchable Riches of Christ; And to make all men
see what is The Fellowship of the Mystery, Which from the beginning of the world hath
Been Hid In God, Who Created all things By Jesus Christ (Ephesian 3:8-9 AV)

How then can These "Wholesome Words Of Christ" from Heaven, To His Body, Be:

the same as [ and blended with or homogenized with ] His Words on earth to the 12 and Israel?
Should They not be:

Rightly Divided (2 Timothy 2:15 AV) From “Things That Differ!" (BBS)

B) In God's Context Of "Prophecy/Covenants/Law" { earthly } Christ, Messiah/King And The
Twelve, gospel of the kingdom, Israel [Twelve tribes ], did He not preach the words that were:

“prophesied since the world began!” (Luke 1:68-70; Acts 3:21 AV)

C)onclusion?:

1) Should we humbly consent "to the doctrine which is according to godliness"?:

2) Should we not then, For His Approval, also humbly consent to God's Command?:

-------------
3) And, precious friend(s), Please Be Very Richly Encouraged and Edified
In The Lord Jesus Christ and In His Precious Word Of Truth, Rightly
Divided:

The Bible: The BIG Picture

Amen.

Oh, so many [ difficult things to understand ] to learn, eh?
