2 Timothy 1:12
For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.
Paul knew in whom he believed and believing was his salvation.
Do you realize there is no denominational Christians. There are Christians that attend denominational church's, but no such thing as a denominational Christian. What is meant by that? Just because you were saved in and maybe even identify with a denomination has nothing to do with your salvation. You know when people ask where you go to church! What they are asking is what do you believe. They are checking to see if you line up with what they believe, like what you believe saved you and keeps you saved. That is not living that is grandma's religion, failing to enter into the abundant life. I use that reference because in conversation with my own grandmother when anyone was brought up she always wanted to know "where do they go to church." Strict religionists who worry more about what others believe than moving on in God.
Paul said in Galations 1:11-12, that the gospel is a person, Christ. You cannot seperate the gospel and Christ in you and "the revelation" gospel. They all go hand in hand, no seperation. You are right in the middle of it all as a believer, you cannot seperate yourself from these verses. It does away with what man has to believe about what the gospel is, the gospel is a person. Everything in scripture is personified in Christ. Christ has to do with everything, nothing is outside of him in Christianity. If it is outside of him then it is not the gospel, it is just a man-made hodge podge of word's that has no foundation. The foundation has been laid and you must build on it through the revealed scriptures, you cannot use your mind of "the knowledge of good and evil" to do it.
We all know what the word says about being spiritually discerned, there is more in your bible than you could understand in three lifetimes. We stand and say "well I got it I got it" I have this God stuff figured out and if you say something I dont believe then you are wrong. How childish can we be to say we have our father's understanding down pat when we know he spoke all of this into existence. But somehow we have got it, we need our head examined at that point. If we ever did figure it out completely he would probably change it because it doesn't matter if you figure it out or not. What matters is your following on to know him and that love affair the world has never known.
The reason he created you was to put Christ in you for the ultimate love relationship. The father love comes by Christ, our love for the father comes by Christ, you cannot seperate Christ from anything that takes place in Christianity.
