Being saved doesn't prevent anyone from sinning. We still have the free will to choose to sin or not, and we still live in a corrupted body that has its own fleshly desires. But a true conversion should reduce the desire and frequency to sin. And if one does sin, it should produce a sense of regret and the desire for repentance.

I was also led to believe this was so. And after about 30 years of fighting the truth about myself, I had to confront the logical corollary: If I still sin, I must not be born again and probably never could be. Paul talks about those vessels predestined for destruction (or worse). Then the "gospel" must be a lie and the non-elect not only do not believe it, they should not believe it.

Like the Deborah King quote I posted in the other thread, sometimes the lies we tell ourselves are the most damaging.

It is important to get there as Jesus said, "you must be born again of the Spirit." That GOD is in all religoins and that muslims , buddists , unbeleiving jews , and all other religoins
serve the same GOD the christain does . YOU MEAN LIKE THAT LIE that many now are beginning

I have to gently point out that Jesus will hold him accountable for his actions, and you for yours.

Even if you weren't perfectly sinless (yet), God is still very fond of you.

We know that righteousness doesn't come by the works of the law. If it did, Jesus didn't have to give His life on the cross.

In another place in scripture, our righteousness is called "filthy rags." We should endeavor to walk after the Spirit, and to strive against sin. BUT ...we are in flesh bodies, sown under sin. And IF we sin, we have an Advocate with the Father ....JESUS CHRIST, the Righteous! BY FAITH, we are clothed in HIS righteousness. And if we ever think we are something we are not, we are then guilty of the sin of pride (on top of everything else). We don't want to be one of those who stand in front of Jesus and say, "But Lord, I did all these good works in Your name. I fed the hungry, and visited the widows. I clothed the naked." And because we placed our confidence in our own works rather in HIS finished work on the cross ....He will say, "Depart from me you worker of iniquity. I never knew you."

Abraham believed God and his faith was accounted to him as righteousness. That is how we are accounted righteous ....Jesus came and did what we could not do. And it was enough ...it is finished!

AoG, Yes, but of the worst of the two types of sin, not both.

If you have been taught and believe without checking for yourself that "sin is sin," you've opened yourself up to a defeatist mindset that is open to more doctrines of demons. For 3,500 years there have always been two types in God's eyes. The Reformationists at the beginning lumped both types into one and then claimed the lack of punishment for the lesser onto sins unto death, the worst type and what we cannot commit.

What do you think? Was my sin immature fruit, or a willful sin unto death committed by a clean nature?

This is important in order to discuss these. Let me show you two scriptures by John showing the results of the two different types of sin. Tell me if you agree with these as written. Or do you want to add words to them to make them more palatable to you?

1 John 3:9 Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.

1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.
