You should try it my way. verses will jump out at you as you read and the Holy Spirit will speak to you through them; and He will also bring to your remembrance verses that apply to the verses that he causes to jump out at you, because you have recently read them; so that you can understand them according to that (1 Corinthians 2:13 (kjv)) hermeneutic.

Well, let's see, how about NO!!! I like to follow through in the best understanding I can get as I'm reading through the scripture.

That means it takes time, its thorough, and I pick back up where I left off.

I like my way, its worked for me many years now. I don't recommend it for everyone though, it takes hours at one sitting my way and will not work for everyone.

I wouldn't put too much trust in commentaries if I were you. The men who write them are flawed human beings. I would stick to the scriptures.

I've been doing this longer than you have son! You do it your way and I'll do it mine!

If that's ok with you!

So there is depth that is hidden to immature Christian's.

No more deeper than this:

1 Corinthians 13:8-10
Love never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. [9] For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. [10] But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.

Here is what I refer to
1 Corinthians 2 (KJV)
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
⁷ But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:
⁸ Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
⁹ But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
¹⁰ But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
¹¹ For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
¹² Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
¹³ Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
¹⁴ But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
¹⁵ But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.
¹⁶ For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
