While I agree with you, Satan knows that threats to your life causes Christianity to flourish. But threats to the ego... To pride... To reputation... To vanity and self... There is power in that.

Exactly. I think threatening people with death is his last resort. Satan's preferred methods have always been through deception and intimidation.

There has been a worrying development in New Zealand recently with regards freedom of religion. The NZ Ministry of Education is requesting Bethlehem College of Tauranga to remove any reference to its belief in Christian monogamous female/male only marriage from its list of beliefs.

How far the government ministry will go with this will be interesting. Meanwhile, a little way up the road...

Long Bay College in Auckland is teaching their students that there are 112 genders and over 200 sexualities.

The present tensions between left and right, liberal and conservative, is a phenomenon we have observed in America to a startling and extreme degree, but it appears the inevitable, after sojourning here in Australia for a time, has now reached the shores of paradise, and is set to create more division and unsettle society as it has elsewhere. I am of the firm belief that these tensions and conflicting opinions and the resulting overreach of government over conscience in order to accommodate what is euphemistically called by those in power, 'the common good', is a deliberately induced conflict in order to bring about what we Adventists understand as the final tyranny over conscience with regards the Sunday/Sabbath issue. Okay, so call me a conspiracy theorist.

But we have seen some remarkable swings from one extreme to the other in politics over the years, and those extremes are getting broader at every turn. One day soon, western society, under the weight of its own incapacity to deal with the tensions and the strife of conflict and passions, will turn to the man in white, and present him as the only morally acceptable leader with the mandate to lead the world into a period of peace and safety.

We read of these divisive and amoral and immoral mandates being touted as 'tolerant', 'responsible', 'inclusive', and a host of other buzz words along with the popular ad hominens aimed at those who choose to think differently from the prevailing culture. And make no mistake, for those of us over 30, who remember a time when LGBTQDXOPF+ folk were a decided minority, it is a shock at how quickly the general populace has embraced the new morality, placing Christians, at least those who believe the Bible is the ultimate standard in faith and practise, the new minority. However, I think that is a false reality, because I think that many who profess to accept that new morality, have capitulated to the pressures of what really is a demonic onslaught on society because of fear. Fear of losing business. Fear of losing jobs. Fear of losing family members. Fear of being called out for being homophobic, racist, and the many other nonsense incendiary insults designed to embarrass, harass, and denigrate those who choose to

“stand in the ways and choose the old paths”. Jer. 6:16

If given the opportunity, many would reverse their support for most of the changes being imposed on our society, so long as there was an even playing field. That however is not the case, and will never again be the case. Religious liberty is under attack everywhere, and it is only going to get worse.

Time is short. Jesus is truly coming soon, but the seeming delay in His coming (we Adventists have been expecting Him for over 140 years) is not because He wasn't ready and wanting to free us from this mess, but because we haven't been ready. He is waiting for us, not the other way around. But the limits of His patience I would imagine are wearing thin. The pressures being laid upon good God-fearing folk all over the world is mounting, the pressures upon our institutions, the schools, the hospitals, and even our churches, is such that soon the limits of God's forbearance will be reached, Christ will come, and those not ready will have to go through the tribulation without any protection.

The time is now to prepare. It is time to pray. It is time to study the word, and plead for the holy Spirit to fill us and empower us to share God's love while we can. The gospel must go out. It cannot be done in our own strength. We need Jesus. Today. Tomorrow may be too late. Every day people are dying without knowing Jesus. The latest catastrophe taking our loved ones away from us is called Sudden Adult Death Syndrome. Look it up.

Look up^^^. Our redemption draws near.

I went to the specialist the other day at the University Hospital and they had rainbows posted and pride shirts for sale. It's really the teachers that are a problem here. And the leaders and rich seem to promote this trash also. Their worldly and wicked and they like to be the people that teach the children of the country. And the children are falling for it. It won't be too long until the savior comes and destroys them or saves them.

...people are looking for Trump to save them instead of Jesus.
That is simply not true. No one is looking to Trump for salvation. They are looking to Trump to uphold the Constitution and to drain the Swamp. It is because he failed to drain the Swamp the first time that the Swamp has not only taken control of America, but the whole world is being destroyed, since the free world has no leader.

Good. I hope they aren't. That is pretty foolish. Good that people aren't that brainless.

I know for a fact that my parents look to the government and education to get this country out of the rut it's in. I think that is pretty foolish, but there are at least some people that do look to political powers for "worldly" salvation. Maybe it's just my parents though. I certainly do not claim to know what anyone else puts their hope in. I can't read the minds of other people.

First there's a demand for toleration... Then it's positively promoted as something to be proud of... Then it's encouraged... I'm waiting for it to become compulsory.
Who can doubt that we are quickly approaching the days of Lot.

Yeah I wondered about that Lot problem we're approaching. I see the two witnesses as people born in this age or there abouts and witnessing to some country that is similar to both Sodom and Egypt in their spiritual ways.

Enoch, I think you are being a little naive if you believe that is all the Christian right in America is aiming for. Or maybe in denial? I say this with concern for you brother, and for all America. There is coming a crisis that the church is blind to. Or asleep... Or deceived. Trump's promises of power to the churches didn't go unnoticed. One cannot believe that this was spiritual power... Trump cannot give that. But he has political power... And the churches danced in the streets and in the stadiums with joy at hearing that. Why do churches want political power?

I am a watchman in the sense I read every day to see what is happening in society. Because I am a watchman I know what to look for. The defeat of the Liberal government in Australia last month was inevitable. The party had ceased to present Liberal ideas and became woke to satisfy and hope to claim the woke vote. It was never going to happen. As it was duped into abandoning its base beliefs it was caught between a rock and a hard place. As a result, it convinced no one and lost the true believers to others. As a result, the whole voting block has moved left which means the country is in the hands of people we would not give the time of day to previously.

It is incongruous that the Greens mostly live in the concrete jungle and could not tell the difference between a spider and a cockroach. They are mainly upper-class affluent people or uni students. They know next to nothing about real people and real living. An assessment of their policies at the 2019 election showed that if they were carried out they would bankrupt the nation.

I am very tempted to say the real problem is the church. It is no longer a light on the hill and we are giving the world plenty to criticize with the Castholic abuse of children, the Hillsong fiasco, and the farcical embrace of homosexuality. Plus I am led to believe that divorce amongst Christians is no different from the divorce rate in the world. None of this is surprising when denominational doctrine takes precedent over the word of God.

Already there are Christians in Australia going to jail because they will not compromise their faith. They will not embrace the demands of government and homosexuals and ditch the truth. I said many years ago that the battle is for the truth. As Satan is the father of lies it is no surprise that today the truth is a lie and a lie is a truth. Once you believe the truth is a lie, you have sold your soul to Satan.

And of course, the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Fear has been replaced by entertainment in the church so it is no use looking there for wisdom.

As Jesus said, he is the way, the truth, and the life and no one comes to the Father except by him. In churches today we talk about everything except what the truth is. Sad because it is the truth that sets you free, not denominational doctrine. What is even more concerning is that most churches have these statements of faith and it is clear they don't believe most of them. What they believe is the denomination's interpretation of it which in most cases does not bear any resemblance to the Word of God.

..I am very tempted to say the real problem is the church. It is no longer a light on the hill..

Yes, gutless cowardly churches have lost the plot and we don't need them to do our thinking for us anyway.
My christian pals have tried introducing me to various churches over the years but I felt uncomfortable, some were like insane asylums and I walked out a few minutes after the service began. My pals were used to seeing me walk and when I began making my way to the exit they'd chuckle and say "There he goes!".
Once I walked out before the service had even begun, and one of the pastors followed me down the street calling out "Come back", it was like trying to escape from Colditz but I managed to give him the slip down a side street and made a home run..:)
Pastors, ministers, priests etc I don't need 'em-

God has a remnant. It still isn't good for man to be alone. God designed families, church fellowship is just as essential to the wellbeing of man as it's a stable blood family. But I hear you. I also spen't time drifting from church to church disillusioned, discontented, disappointed. And I also thought, I've got Jesus, who needs 'em. I then spent 8 years backslidden, back doing the stuff I did before I was saved, my children grown into teenagers and heading in the same direction, and my marriage in disarray. At least in the church, even a dysfunctional church, we were a family.

Don't give up looking for truth and a church that teaches it. Love truth... Hunger and thirst for truth... Never presume you've found it before time... And God will lead you in the right paths.

1- The Truth can be found through Jesus in any small gospel like this one..:)-

2- So I'm not on a "path" because I reached the end of it long ago..:)

Yes and No. I am still standing...just. Have been through a few operations for one thing and another and have some more to go. My daughter tells me she wants me around for at least another 10 years so I will have to keep soldering on.

The problem with too many churches is they teach you about God/Jesus. They don't teach you to know God/Jesus.
