Yes, both were in sin. I realize you could not know this unless you have read every single post of mine from the past HOWEVER I have routinely condemned the actions of ALL the men/women who killed in the name of Christ. It doesn't matter if they were Protestant or Catholic I pointed out and condemned both.

Sadly, on this forum, people want to only point out the actions of the CC and ignore the log in their own eye.

Without faith we cannot be saved. With faith the promises hold true.
The promises are rooted in faith, cause and effect.

Some are so against cause and effect, or justification, anything that suggests such a thing must be wrong.
What is wrong is the belief things are not linked. It is faith that is counted as righteousness.

If one has a legalist mindset waiting to take over ones soul, like an alcoholic who is free from drink, one drink will push them over the edge. The problem is not a relationship with Jesus, but the idea because we know Jesus we will do things. But this is true of every loving relationship, there is a dual dependency involved, when one is hurt so is the other. If you break this bond, it actually means there is no relationship.

OCD cleanliness is driven by the idea that germ could be in that sandwich, on that table, on that knife, so it must be cleaned 20x or more or maybe safest not used. Being like this does not make things better, or is real. Germs are everywhere but only some really matter, and we will always get ill occasionally. So in Christ the law of the Spirit, the way of love will incur pain and failure, but this is how relationships work. God and we do not dump each other because things have gone wrong, we walk in the light, we repent, we work a way through and we walk on.

Look at Jonah who did not want to preach to Nineveh or David who did not want to give up the child with Bathsheba. It got resolved.
I have great sympathies with peoples background and theology, but still Jesus was free to not wash hands, to eat corn on the sabbath, to heal people and forgive their sins, to allow them to carry their mats. But He still honoured the law of Moses and Gods will, knowing its boundaries and wisdom.

Jesus said that one must abide in the vine, so if one does not abide in him you are not a Christian at all, are some claiming to be born again due to their own will or a one time event knowing that the vine exist but they do not abide in it and end up all puffed up in pride of ownership of the word.

Adam and Eve were kicked out of the Kingdom of Gods Paradise, due to being temped as to abiding in Sin = Satan's Kingdom of this world.

We see religion is claiming that we are all sinners, so they embrace the Sin and that's why prop up Sodomites, they are empowering them ? claiming that all sinners are the same, well no they are not the same at all !

Working in their salvation or working out their salvation with fear and trembling is a wise person.
There are some that hate the idea we need to show ourselves worthy of the cross and the way of Christ.

But I would say church history demonstrates many claim a lot but deliver only the worlds ways and its wisdom.
If the punishment of unbelief is the lake of fire, and the blessing of salvation being with Jesus there needs to be a distinction between the two groups.
1. Confession of Christ
2. Belief in Jesus
3. Repentance
4. Love from the heart
5. The fruit of love in actions and words
6. Love of the people of God
7. Following Gods will and ways.
8. Forgiveness of others

This list covers most of the areas needed. But it is not a tick box list, it is a reflection of meeting Jesus and following Him.
I know many know the idea of being good, but not the how of sin and repentance, of faith and love, so wish to behave how christians should behave but never actually from who they are or how they interact, just to appear that is how they should be.

To me this is what lost means. Appearing one way but being another, as if God made us like this and intended life to be slaves to sin.

Remember, that Jesus and the Father in heaven are perfect in Judgment, and when someone is condemned by them, for unbelief, as written, or for other, as written, then that someone is condemned, and no one can change that.

Or, with some hope, in truth, as Jesus says: They will all likewise perish, unless they repent.

Thus, as written, they are , or will be , condemned as Jesus says, and unless they repent.

Can you explain the bolded part in your post.

Did you or did you not just claim that the CC is condemned, and iinsist the log in their eye will NEVER release them from their eternal condemnation

First, where is the first post saying they were condemned ? (hint: it wasn't me nor mine)

Second, where in Scripture does God and Jesus and those inspired by God show who is condemned, and who it is who condemns them?

Third, if God condemns someone, do you think that any log anywhere, or speck or power in heaven and earth, any power,
could save them ?

Fourth, is there anyone other that God you put your faith and trust in ? If so, are you willing to change, to repent, and to put all of your faith and your trust in God ?

Do you know what belief in Christ is? It is in meeting Him, knowing His heart and what He addresses each and every day. You are right about one thing. Each time we come to Jesus we are always in need, always poor and needing to be filled and encouraged. Gods people are not tax collectors though, they are saints who know how to follow Jesus and love those who hate them. I feel sorry for those who come to Jesus and stay at the gate because they will not let Him into their heart and change them. Nothing has any value unless the defences are down and the Holy Spirit can work and dwell in their hearts. To let go and let God is tough, because we admit we no longer have control.
