When did I ever claim to be a people? ;) Uhm... anyway. Let's see... one political accomplishment is that America prevailed in the cold war against the Soviet Union, demonstrating the superiority of the philosophy of personal liberty. I served in the army during that struggle, so I helped. Let's see, America provided the force that tipped the scales in defeating Naziism. Let's see, the economic engine of America since 1912 has propelled the nation to heights of economic prosperity never before seen in the world. I have a business I started 12 years ago, so I helped with that too. Nations that emulate us have also seen great prosperity. Those who don't suffer still. That is a political, social, and economic accomplishment.
What does any of that have to do with today ? all it does is point out how badly we have been doing and the generation that followed did when the country was handed over to them....you don't look like you were born in 1912...as far as the military is concerned perhaps you can tell me why so many Americans had to fight and die to "defeat" people who we now bow down to while continuing to feed them American lives...has victory been redefined ?....now we outright lie to young men telling them they are fighting for America and its freedoms while we have the defense authorization act and the "patriot" act that shreds the constitution...we send them to hell holes to die for people that hate them and us and wave our flags like idiots and tell the loved ones it was all for America....it is nothing but a filthy lie.
What you mean to say is that I don't matter to YOU. I matter to my wife, my children, my employees, my customers, and my neighbors. I matter to God. I matter to a great many people, and I am also a voice among many voices that defends personal liberty and resists tyranny, whether from the left or the right. Since you don't know me, I would not expect to matter to you very much. And you matter only a little to me because I don't know who you are, but I do suspect you too are a person and therefore deserving of courtesy and respect.
I am not so blinded that I think people in internet forum discussions are not real.
The statement was not meant to be personal or in the sense of the individual but in the collective....but emotionally driven, inspired and motivated people will always take it that way...when will i learn.
The statement however still stands, the so called "good" and "nice" people have allowed the country to come to edge of the cliff....they do not fight, they do not resist....all they do is listen to all talk and no action radio making men like Rush Limbaugh rich by telling them things they should already know.....conservatism in America is an absolute failure on all counts.
I'm afraid you are not aware of any aspect of my "Christianity". Remember, we don't know each other. My relationship with God is not something I've ever discussed with you. In the political forums I discuss political philosophies that have been handed down by classical philosophers like Aristotle, Augustine, Thomas Aquinas, Hobbes, Locke, Rousseau, etc. You know, the guys America's founders looked to for political philosophy. Pre-modern thinkers. I don't argue politics from a Christian theocracy point of view, so I'm not sure where your comment comes from unless you're confusing me with someone else you've discussed politics with. I'm happy to discuss anything political with you, but it is best if you let me state my political positions and philosophies rather than assuming them.
Again i was speaking in the collective, however if you are one of those nice pleasnt and polite folks that never gets upset about anything then maybe it does apply to you...perhaps when you loose your business, home and everything else perhaps that will tick you off a little....your christianity is not my concern....that is between you and God
My opinion was not uninformed, it was informed from the rhetorical behavior I observe on the forum with my own eyes. Yes, when I see rude behavior I make a judgement about it. And I have no problem confronting others who say they are Christians but treat others with contempt. It is a righteous judgement. Yes, I find it uncomfortable when someone tells me I've been rude, arrogant, self-centered, or points out one of my other flaws.
It's kind of like if your neighbor blows leaves from his lawn onto yours. You don't call a cop, you confront him directly and let him know he was rude. That's what people in any kind of community do.
