Corny? I suppose. But how much of our faith comes from what we see and experience? And how much comes from the word of God alone? Sight faith prompts people to buy cars and foods they believe will live up to the claims. But Jesus didn’t commit himself to many who believed in him for the same reasons. They believed because of the miracles they saw. But bible faith is different. It is a fruit of the Holy Spirit that comes from hearing God’s word in the heart.
So how much of what we believe is from the heart? And how much is in our head? If we can prove what we believe comes from scripture, it is heart faith. But if we cannot, it is merely head faith until proven otherwise.
Where will we be if all the visual stimuli evaporates? And we have only what is in our hearts? Is there be enough to keep you going? Nothing to cling to but the few verses you managed to remember? This is where the test of faith remains after the rest comes crashing down around us in life or in our final days and hours.
