The Recorded Atrocities of John Calvin

The apostle John wrote: "Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but try the spirits to see whether they be of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world" 1 John 4:1.

The minutes book of the Geneva City Council, 1541-1549

1. During the ravages of the pestilence in 1545 more than twenty men and women were burnt alive for witchcraft.

2. From 1542 to 1546 fifty-eight judgments of death and twenty-six decrees of banishment were passed.

3. During the years of 1558 and 1559 the cases of various punishments for all sorts of offences amounted to four hundred and fourteen.

4. One Burgher smiled while attending baptism: three days in prison.

5. Another, tired out on a hot summer day, went to sleep during a sermon: was sentenced to prison.

6. Some workmen ate pastry at breakfast: three days on bread and water.

7. Two burghers played skittles: prison.

8. Two others diced for a quarter bottle of wine: prison.

9. A blind fiddler played and danced: expelled from the city.

10. Another praised Castellio's translation of the Bible: expelled from Geneva.

11. A girl was caught skating, a widow threw herself on the grave of her husband, a burgher offered his neighbor a pinch of snuff: they were summoned before the Consistory, exhorted and ordered to do penance.

12. Some cheerful fellows at Epiphany stuck a bean into the cake: four and twenty hours on bread and water.

13. A couple of peasants talked about business matters on coming out of church: prison.

14. A man played cards: he was pilloried with the pack around his neck.

15. Another sang riotously in the street; was told 'they could go sing elsewhere,' this meaning he was banished from the city.

16. Two bargees had a brawl: executed.

The death penalty against heresy, idolatry and blasphemy and barbarous customs of torture were retained. Attendance at public worship services was commanded on penalty of three sols. Watchmen were appointed to see that people went to church. The members of the Consistory visited every house to see that people went to church.

The members of the Consistory visited every house once a year to examine the faith and morals of the family. Every unseemly word and act on the streets was reported and the offenders were cited before the Consistory to be either censured and warned, or to be handed over to the council for severer punishment.

Needless to say, old John Calvin was a real nutjob! :funlaugh2

calvin was as bad as the popes he had warned against .
It is true that blood often was the result of those who conformed not
to the governing power of who so ever ruled , whether prostestant or catholic , they hands were full of blood .
BUT we aint even began to see the flow of blood
that will come upon the true sheep IN These last hours who coformed not
to anti christ , to the dragon and his version of love and what he called god . SO MUCH
for inclusivity , it led to total rebellion . interfaith will finish the works of anti christ and cause all
not in the lambs book of life to merge under its love .

Well enjoy the festivities. I'm going to be protected:

Revelation 3:10
Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

Lets just hope by protection that dont mean selling out . cause many darn sure have
and many more darn sure will .
Now the sheep have bled through all ages . In fact
take a peek around at some of these other countries . Look at how many christains they put to death .
GUESS they were NOT good enough to be protected BY GOD , YEAH RIGHT .
we are appointed unto tribulation . AND YES by all means we can pray to be delivered from wicked men .
BUT dont think persecution was for another age . FRIEND its gonna get real nasty here too .
But like most they aint gonna see it as tribulation when true non conforming sheep are put to death .
HECK they gonna see us as but haters and dangerous and in the way
of their own anti christ beloved peace lie . interfaith is of anti christ . I SURE HOPE you can at least see that my friend .

No, YOU are appointed unto tribulation, I'm appointed to be IN Christ where the Lord's people are protected.

According to your faith it will be done unto you.

You believe you will go thru the great tribulation, the Lord is going to leave you here when He rescues His faithful.

interfaith is of anti christ . I SURE HOPE you can at least see that my friend .

Did I say anything that would lead anybody to believe I was in agreement with the ecumenical movement?
