Actually, when Victorians began to realise that by not following the government directives of safe healthy practices and began to comply with them, the stats of the daily reported Covid19 virus cases, immediately became stable, but the rate at which the reported cases began to subside was relatively slow as the previously published charts on this forum shows.
The above graph shows that the control measures of the lock down did not begin to work until around 8-8-20 and the decay in the moving 14 day reported virus cases began a classical exponential decay pattern which took around 8 weeks to properly stabilise, and since 3-10-20 the dampening of the rate of change in the moving 14 day totals has oscillated around zero. The above graph proves that when people begin to be compliant that the control measures are working.

What I can see from your quoted post is that you are personally hurting from the effects of the second wave and you are blaming everybody but yourself for the situation that you and other Victorians have placed yourselves in. You and the other Victorians who selfishly did not want to comply with the government directives have also hurt the rest of Australia and caused substantial financial damage to them as well as yourself.
What you are not hearing at the moment are the rest of the hurting Aussies because of the Victorian 2nd wave complaining as much as you are, but when they start, believe me you will not want to be considered as a Victorian.

Come to think of it, it is now illegal for political parties to receive "monetary contributions from developers" to assist them and their party to be elected and form the dominate governing party.

I'm a Kiwi, so I won't be voting for anyone. I have trouble harmonizing the Australian equivalent to the NZ national party who are center right with the Australian 'liberals'. The NZ version of the labor party is extreme left which makes Andrews support for China look like genghis khan on steroids.

UK had nearly 17,000 new cases yesterday, USA has had daily new cases in the high 60,000s in the past few days, France +29,837 new cases, Iran is the middle of their Third Wave.

And despite only recording 2 new cases, Victoria still has the longest and strictest lockdowns in the western world...

Lol every state had some sort of restrictions with the first wave, the 4 reasons to leave home was at a national level. We weren't the first to do border closures. WA continues to have their hardline border closure. I believe they even introduced ankle bracelets to quarantine law breakers.

And the fact is no other state had state of emergency limitations to 6 months, but for some reason Victoria did. If there is no state of emergency in Victoria, they cannot enforce the restrictions, if they cannot enforce health and safety restrictions, people do what they want, when they want, and the virus gets far worse.

A lot of people doing what they want, when they want, is the reason why some states in the USA are seeing such high covid infection rates.

Why is any of this a surprise to you? You should know, Australia has had tough bio-security laws for a while.
