I just watched it again and he doesnt actually cut a piece and the eagle went ahead and took it, but the container full of cut filets suggests that he was out there feeding them.
I don't think you're familiar with eagles. It wasn't taking no for an answer and is way too close for comfort. I don't think the fisherman had much choice. Take a look at how dangerous eagles are:

Thought this was funny, normally I'm just ready to duck when they fly over me, they stand as tall as a child:
That's funny and there were more than one!
Hey @Pearl if you like the bald eagle taking food from the fisherman than you should like this:

Amazing.

In the mountains near Los Angeles, there's a Bald Eagle nest. Each year they usually lay eggs. There's a live cam on them and lots of us watch the eggs to see if they hatch.

The news informs us when they first lay the eggs.

I just checked, one of the Eagles is on the nest now. The website also writes updates on the Eagles.

Wow, 7 feet wing span!
Yep, I was on the beach and saw one of those larger bald eagles myself. It was standing on the shore in the sand and it was large enough to worry me being close to it.
