yes it was very friendly and people kept say 'Oh we've heard about you.' Seems they had been praying for me at the Wednesday bible study. It was lovely.

I'm just going to check out one of the sermons...listening to Gordon hall on the Jonah sermons. I like how he calls a spade a spade. You are definitely very blessed to find a great group of believers in Christ. Bless you and yours. Do you have a ride? :)

Gordon Hall seems like a really nice man. He arranged for his wife to pick me up and another couple brought me home. They are starting Baptism classes as there are about five or six new people waiting to be Baptised. I sort of glad really that they go through classes to make sure they know what they are doing and why they are doing it.I'm just going to check out one of the sermons...listening to Gordon hall on the Jonah sermons. I had to go through similar baptism classes before I was baptized back in the day....:) Glad you got a ride and back
@Angelina Good for the person who wants to be baptized to have a proper knowledge beforehand from Scripture of what s/he is doing, and how the doctrine fits the profession of faith, right?

The only one I know of is the HQ in Redding where Bill Johnson is. I am sorry I have nothing negative to report. Bill Johnson visited a church near us and the son of a friend went to a meeting with a friend of his who had only one hand. When he came home he had two hands.
Right. I have read their Statement of Faith and find it perfectly biblical. It is puzzling that they would call themselves "Bethel Church" unless they were in existence long before the one which became notorious. In which case they should stick to their name.

The Bethel church I went to was quite traditional, no-fuss church with friendly people.
You could always ask if they're linked to the Bethel group that has the bad reputation.

Or,given the scandal if they are affiliated with the other Bethel church they could have deleted it.
Would you want to be affiliated with a church that's linked to the scandalous Bethel?
Asking them settles the question doesn't it?
I only went once and I liked it. There were no egos on show and the worship was simply a guitar and oldish songs I knew. And the people were lovely.
