Did you know that the Bible talks about peace through out it?

Peace is such a great thing that we can have today spiritually through Jesus Christ, who has reconciled us to God. Do you believe in your heart that you have been reconciled to God? Ask yourself that question and be honest about it between yourself and God.

Let's look at some verses that talk about these things:

Psalm 4:8

I will both lie down in peace, and sleep;

For You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.

The Psalmist here in 4:8 states I will both lie down in peace, and sleep. The Psalmist is having peace with Yahweh because he acknowledges his knowing that He Alone, makes him dwell in safety.

Think about this for you and your own relationship with Yahweh through the Lord Jesus Christ, are you able to lie down in peace, and sleep.

Do you with God who lives with-in you by his Spirit help you to - be well, happy, friendly in your life by working in your heart and mind, bring you to have peace in your life?

Luke 1:
76 And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Highest: for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways;

77 To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins,

78 Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us,

God promised to send someone who was going to be the savior of the world, He sent him to the nation of Israel, and in this verse, we can see that the child sent was going to be called the prophet of the Highest (God); for thou shat go before the face of the LORD to prepare his ways;

To give knowledge of salvation unto his people (Israel in context) - by the remissions of their sins, through the tender of mercy of our God whereby the dayspring from on high has visited us (in that time).

Do you find peace in knowing that our salvation is completely and solely found in God through the Lord Jesus Christ who reconciles us with Him by faith? It is because of the tender mercy of God that this happened! How amazing is that?

Luke 2:
8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.

9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.

10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,

14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

  • There were some Shepards abiding in the field and tending to their sheep by keeping watch over their flock by night. Then an Angel of of the LORD came upon them, and the glory of the LORD shown round about them and they were afraid.

  • The Angel of the LORD said to them to not be afraid: For I bring you good tidings of great joy which shall be to all people. (How amazing is this - this good tiding of great joy would shall be to all people!) That is great news.

  • The Angel of the LORD said unto them; For unto you is born this day in the city of David, a Saviour, which is the Anointed - Messiah - Christ the Lord (Yeshua)! When they find the child, they would see him as a babe wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger.

  • Then suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of heavenly host praising God, and saying - Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, and good will toward men.

~ ~ ~ Does this message bring you peace? This message should be taken to note that the eyes and focus was on the mission that this child would accomplish to bring forth on earth spiritual peace.

In this life on earth now today, because of the Lord Jesus Christ by the Holy Spirit that he sends through God into a believers heart will move them to have spiritual peace while on earth, and give them the ability to have good will towards men which is all attributed to God who sent this child to be able to accomplish the mission to reconcile the world back unto himself.

Today though many fight the world, instead of understanding that God has reconciled the world to himself and fighting doesn't bring peace it brings division.

John 20:19 Then, the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were [a]assembled, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and said to them, “Peace be with you.”

  • After Jesus Christ had resurrected, after the third day of burial - That same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled.

  • So when the Disciples were all gather together, they were escaping away from the Jews - perhaps the Jews were trying to do something to the disciples while they were trying to get to their destination.

  • Jesus had came and stood in the midst, said to them "Peace be with you."
Have you ever been in a situation were you were fearful in your life because of other people perhaps in a group or whatever you can think of in your life where you were fearful of others and what they perhaps may say to you? Or perhaps do to you (of course sometimes the cops needs to be called in bad situations) - but perhaps you were fearful of a question if you asked them they would say something to shoot you down? Did you go hide away, maybe not in a physical sense but internally inside did you hide away?

I have personally have had problems like this, but look who comes in to see the disciples, and look what he says to them - Peace be with you.

Peace here in greek is:
eirēnē

i-rah'-nay

Probably from a primary verb εἴρω eirō (to join); peace (literally or figuratively); by implication prosperity: - one, peace, quietness, rest, + set at one again.

Do not be fearful, but let peace be with you - which we can find that spiritual peace by and through our Lord Jesus Christ, who gives us peace, even peace with God because of everything he has done.

Pray to God and ask him to help you find this peace and rest, and quietness to still your heart.

Romans 8:6 For to be [a]carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

Ah Paul, an amazing apostle of Christ though he deemed himself the least of them. He states here to be carnally minded is death (it can cause spiritual death), but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

Naturally our fleshly inclination is to look our for ourselves, we can become defensive if someone may offend up and we react by our carnal nature to fight back and strike out like a snake that goes into kill a bird.

Carnal is defined in the greek as such:
sarx

sarx

Probably from the base of G4563; flesh (as stripped of the skin), that is, (strictly) the meat of an animal (as food), or (by extension) the body (as opposed to the soul (or spirit), or as the symbol of what is external, or as the means of kindred, or (by implication) human nature (with its frailties (physically or morally) and passions), or (specifically) a human being (as such): - carnal (-ly, + -ly minded), flesh ([-ly]).

Paul is talking about the carnal - fleshly desires and to have our mind on these things, which cause us to be mean towards others, selfish even (I am guilty of much of these things through out the course of my life), is death. This death is spiritual death or spiritual quenching - if you are a believer. All people start of spiritually dead until they come to Christ.

Christ is the one who brings forth Spiritual life to us by believing in him, and choose to follow and seek after him, and that is a hard and tough road for sure! Most assuredly in my own life it is has been tough and have had failures even today but God is good, and when we do fail. We have God who doesn't get angry with us, but we personally quench the spirit or cause spiritual death. This is why it is so good to know how good God is and that we can come to him and lay on him literally everything and he will be just to forgive us and help cleanse our heart and become spiritually alive again, it is a choice though. Between you and God.

To be spiritually minded is life, and peace. Remember that, and remember that your fleshly nature can cause you problems if you are not addressing those things personally by yourself and alone with God.

Romans 14:17 for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

Paul goes on further to say that the kingdom of God is not - this natural life we have - eating and drinking - all of people do these things, eat and drink.

The Kingdom of God is not living by the flesh it is -> living knowing the righteousness the the Lord Jesus Christ and all that he has done to make us right because of (HIM) in which is where peace and joy come by participating in the Holy Spirit that is given to you by God!

Galatians 1:3 Grace to you and peace from God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ,

Paul teaches here,

In our lives we are meant to by faith in Christ, - believing and following after him, to have grace, and peace from God the Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ. Do you believe that personally in your own walk with God?

Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 [a]gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.

May you understand these things and what they mean. The Fruit of natural life doesn't amount up to much, sure we can do good things, and take out the trash for our wife, or help the neighbor get their car fixed or whatever, but the Fruit of the spirit produces all things things above.

Ask God to help you by the Holy Spirit to have these fruits in your life, some of us may fail in different areas and that is okay! We are all failing day to day, but daily we have God and the Lord Jesus Christ to look to so that we may understanding Gods Grace, and peace that he desires for us to have spiritually!

Though everyone has a body of flesh and bone, the struggle of life is still very real. Following Christ is not the easiest thing to do, though some may suggest it is. The reality is however it requires daily self-sacrifice, to die to oneself and allow God to move in and through you. It is a daily participation to pray for the people you know even if you are not super close to them. It requires us to, suffer in the sense of — letting go and allowing people to be who they are, and though we can share our thoughts, and even express our beliefs. If someone sees differently there is no reason to fight. We do not wrestle flesh and bone — you can share what you believe, even using scriptures, at the end of the day, and at the morning of each breaking dawn one has on this earth.

The choice is, will one love God first.
Will one love others.

The only two commandments one lives by, and allows the spirit of Christ and the Holy Spirit to move them.

Keep focused on heavenly things, though all people go through this life having fleshly things come up against them be it one’s own heart or those who do decide to wrestle against flesh and bone.

God bless.

What the . . .

It seems that the writer of the OP does not understand how peace between people and peace between people and God works. The "Peace" process in both cases are identical. It all depends on the acceptance of the terms of the peace agreement between the two parties. The peace process is very circular in nature and peace can increase or decrease depending on the response of the entities involved.

Shalom

Hello Jay Ross,

Sometimes having peace with others 100% of the time with individuals may not be possible.

Sometimes you may end up making them upset, or sometimes they may make you upset.

God is there for us in these times, and divisions and differences of perspective come into play with living breathing individuals, that is where unpeace starts to happen. Rest assured however that even your enemies can be made to have peace with you.

When the LORD takes pleasure in anyone’s way, he causes their enemies to make peace with them. Proverbs 16:7.

When the LORD takes pleasure in anyone’s way, he causes their enemies to make peace with them. Proverbs 16:7.

Just as I said above, you have no understanding of the process of obtaining peace either with others or with God. Peace is not a static quantity that we can obtain because it ebbs and flows as the peace process moves in its circular fashion. People easily give their peace up when influenced by the traveller that comes and goes in our lives. We can have peace in our lives when our relationship with God is based on the acceptable terms on offer, but having peace with others has never been promised to be a "Christian's" lot in our lives.

Being nice and polite but wielding a knife to stab someone else in their back because we do not accept them or what they write as being "God's Truth," shows that we have no idea of what peace involves. Working on our peaceful interactions with others is a lot of hard work. Something that you still need to work on.

Shalom

I have no reason to judge others.

I have no reason to judge others.

Not true because you have openly admitted to deliberately shutting down thread by your false argument tactics or what ever because you believed it was in error. That is you judging others.

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

There is no peace, saith the LORD, unto the wicked.

Peace is the absence of war. Sinners have no peace with God, and are still at war with Him by sinning.

Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

Religious sinners, whether christian, jewish, muslim, etc...manufacture a peace for themselves with God, where there is no peace from God.

They have healed also the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace.

The make peace with the devil to continue sinning, thinking God accepts their terms of peace to also do good from time to time:

Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves.

Religious man makes himself a more neighborly sinner.

The only peace of Christ Jesus is within the soul, that knows he is no more sinning against Him.

Robert these are somethings of what Jesus said that defiles a person, when talking to the Pharisees in his day; then explains to the disciples.

“Then some Pharisees and teachers of the law came to Jesus from Jerusalem and asked, “Why do your disciples break the tradition of the elders? They don’t wash their hands before they eat!” Jesus replied, “And why do you break the command of God for the sake of your tradition? For God said, ‘Honor your father and mother’ and ‘Anyone who curses their father or mother is to be put to death.’ But you say that if anyone declares that what might have been used to help their father or mother is ‘devoted to God,’ they are not to ‘honor their father or mother’ with it. Thus you nullify the word of God for the sake of your tradition. You hypocrites! Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you: “ ‘These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. They worship me in vain; their teachings are merely human rules.’ ” Jesus called the crowd to him and said, “Listen and understand. What goes into someone’s mouth does not defile them, but what comes out of their mouth, that is what defiles them.” Then the disciples came to him and asked, “Do you know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this?” He replied, “Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted will be pulled up by the roots. Leave them; they are blind guides. If the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit.” Peter said, “Explain the parable to us.” “Are you still so dull?” Jesus asked them. “Don’t you see that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and then out of the body? But the things that come out of a person’s mouth come from the heart, and these defile them. For out of the heart come evil thoughts—murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander. These are what defile a person; but eating with unwashed hands does not defile them.””
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭15:1-20‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Yes, that is true, all of us have an ability to fail, but a wise person would know that it is better to keep ones trap shut than to remove all doubt by opening it.

It seems that you are very judgemental in what you post in your rebuttals.

Have a good day now.

Matthew, you do not offend me as a person. What offends me is the dribble, without understanding, that you post.

Matthew, if what you post was in line with the scriptures, then there would be no need for you to apologies to me as I would not have any need to respond too what you post except with a thumps up like.

Know what I mean.

That is something not cared much by me, Jay Ross.

The "like" button, though I do use it. I believe what happens is people believe they need to have people conform to their will and ways to be accepted by them, and that is not totally right. One should seek to be simply be accepted by God, and love people regardless if they have a different stance.

Haven't told anyone that they should follow me, but instead not believe me, and they should think for themselves and seek out for themselves and study for themselves and see what is true.

From what my choice is to accept people where they are, though I do tend to share my beliefs openly. I prefer them to just believe how they are going to and look to God and the Lord Jesus Christ. Find rest in looking to them!

@MatthewG I can tell you once, twice, or perhaps a number of times, but in the end it is up to God to bring the correction that might be needed in your life, just as we all need God's correction in our lives, and after telling you a number of times what I perceive is wrong in what you post, I have to let go and let God do His thing in your life.

May the Lord God continue to include you among those whom He is drawing to Himself.
