Jer 23:6 says Christ's Name is "God Is Our Righteousness",

God in not your righteousness, until you have received from God forgiveness of sin, and the imputed righteousness of God..

No sinner has righteousness, whereas all the born again have recevied it from God, as "the Gift of Righteousness".

You've never read Romans? @GracePeace ?

This is Paul's epistle that strictly and expansively deals with the ""imputed rightouesness of Christ.""
You should initually study, Chap, 3, 4,.....As Paul teaches in many places that Fatih was counted to Abraham as imputed righteousness, and that we the believer receive the same.

Let me teach a small part of it, but first let me tell you this., from the KJV.
No sinner has any righteousness, as that is why you are a sinner. So, to be reconciled to God you have to be equal in rightouesess to God, and no sinner has any righteousness, as all they have are sins that need to be forgiven.
So, God resolves all this through Christ by forgiving our sin, and then establishing us with HIS Righteousness, as our "Faith is counted as (Christ's) Righteouenss"......and this is God giving the BELIEVER,.. his "Gift of Righteousness.".

Now Romans 3 teaches in vs 22, that the "righteousness of FAITH : is given "unto all and upon all them that BELIEVE".

So that is righteousness being "imputed". through Faith.

In v26 Paul describes this as "HIS (God's) righteousness"... because God is the "Justifier of all who believe in Jesus".

IN vs 28 Paul teaches that "we concluded that a person is justified by faith".. and this is where we learn that the result of our faith in Christ is that we are eternally "justified" before God, based on our "Faith"......and not our works.
This is the beleiver, now "in Christ" who is our Justification and Sanctifcation... 1 Corin 1:30 (KJV)

Paul then explains, in Romans 4:6, that "God imputeth righteousness, without works'., and highlights this using Abraham . Paul then teaches that Abrahams = "Faith was counted (reckoned -imputed) to him as Righteousness".

And here is the conclusion of this initial part of Paul's teching on God's "imputed righteoss"... Romans 4:24... "but for the believer also, it shall be imputed.. If we believe".....

Jer 23:6 says Christ's Name is "God Is Our Righteousness", so I believe "God Is Our Righteousness"--any idea of "imputation" would have to square itself with that reality. Those who abide in Him, and He in them, have GOD as their righteousness, not merely "His righteousness" "imputed".
Are you being so bold as to not claim to be as righteous as God like some here? ;)

God's righteousness is His banner over us who enter INTO Christ. His righteousness is like a tank we enter into for protection. We enter into the tank by being IN Christ. We, however never become the tank. The tank is His righteousness. OUR righteousness is to stay in (abide). This is called "the righteousness of saints". Those who have washed their robes in the blood of the Lamb and have the testimony of Christ. These overcome by rolling over the enemy with nothing stopping them. Even the gates of hell.....

I wonder if the higher walk you mention is what Heb 3-4 calls "His Rest"?
'
"His Rest", is God's Grace.

"His Rest" is...>"we have peace with God"... based on the finished work of Jesus on the Cross.

Salvation takes God's wrath off of us, that was on us when we were unbelievers... John 3:36..... and now we are kept in eternal peace, with God... now having Eternal life, = that is a Gift from God, bases on the Sacriifice of Christ that is the "Blood Atonement< that is the 'New Covenant".

We, however never become the tank.

God's righteousness is the eternal tank., = is the imputed righteousness of God.
All who have believe in Jesus, have now received God's imputed Rightesouness.

Paul then teaches that each born again Christiaan, is become "THE righteousess of God, in Christ"

The Christian is become the eternal "tank".

The Holy and Sanctified : "vessel".

Another way to view that is........all the born again are proven to have received God's Righteousness, as they are all beome "the Temple of the Holy Spirit".

The higher walk is what we do as children of God when we walk in the spirit.

The rest spoken in Heb is the rest that we enter when we have become children of God. when we have stopped working. and put it all in Gods hands.

They did not enter his rest. because they did not have faith in him.

But as Heb 3 also says, the wor5k was completed before the foundation of the world..

@Lizbeth

I suggest you read a book, an autobiography.
"Autobiography of Madame Jeanne Guyon"

I really think you could benefit from her life experience.

HOW you could come to such a conclusion??

He gave you a "like" but He didnt answer Her Question.
So, as you are now His bodyguard on the forum, why dont you ask him her question, and maybe Epikopos will answer you in a PM, as he wont answer it here.. (so far)....@Laurina.

Think on that.

Repentance? Jesus didn't come to call the righteous to repentance so long as the way of holiness was not yet available. Righteousness was the best we could do. Why stop people from doing righteousness?

But when the New Covenant was fully achieved then ALL men were called to repentance INTO holiness.

Unless one understands the two levels of righteousness they will be a false teacher...UNLESS...the person is speaking from Zion by the mouth of God...then that one can ignore what men can do in their own strength. But everyone else needs to comply with a righteousness according to the law.

I teach both levels of righteousness according to the wisdom God gave me. The meek inherit the earth. The saints inherit eternal glory.

What we see here are many who are simply lawless who have neither submitted themselves to Christ nor the law. They have neither righteousness.

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that does the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

But Jesus came to fulfill ALL righteousness...on both levels. Otherwise why would He submit to water baptism?

Epi says that people who don't know Christ can be saved by their own righteousness. Which of course means that they haven't repented, so therefore they are saved without repenting. To back this up he points out the verse that says Jesus died for the sins of the whole world..........so I was also pointing out that to take that verse as literally as he is, by extension it would logically mean that any unrepentant sinner is saved, no matter how heinously wicked.

This is an extremist viewpoint that denies God's mercy. To the extremist it's all or nothing. That works for holiness...which you don't have. So by NOT having mercy you forego it yourself.

Even though I affirm this "on paper", this stands in contrast to my mentality, which is imperfect, which is "I had better do good, or else--if I don't do good, I will get in trouble"--Paul seems to speak about the mere prospect of doing good as a source of joy and hope, not dread, like me, because he is sure he by grace will do it and God will get glory. How can he be so sure?
Faith.

I don't condemn myself, knowing God does not condemn me.

It's that "or else" POV that triggers the flesh.

Romans 7:5 KJV
For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death.

The Law moves the flesh to sin. The Law is, "or else".

Sin is forgiven, and Christ works righteousness in and through us, having made us holy and righteous in the inner man. The flesh already stands condemned, the new creation spirit is created patterned after God in righteousness and true holiness.

"Paul seems to speak about the mere prospect of doing good as a source of joy and hope,"

I never really thought about it this way, but yes! Christ in you, the hope (faith based expectation) of glory. Knowing the end is assured, that we are safe in the arms of Jesus, frees us from the fear of condemnation, and releases us to serve others in love, not concerned about purchasing our redemption, which was already purchased by Jesus' blood.

These two views are opposite each other. One is that we serve because we have a love in us that is showing itself though our actions and thoughts. The other is that we are under threat of death unless we obey, which we do as best we can, fearing for our lack of self control. The first lets the flesh rest, the second stirs up the flesh against us.

Much love!

John the Baptist said of Jesus, Behold, the Lamb of God who carries away the sin of the world. Jesus said, All sin shall be forgiven men excepting the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit.

So I believe that all men's sins have been forgiven them. That God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, and this is now an accomplished fact. All men are reconciled to God. But not all men have received the reconciliation, and so still stand as His enemies.

Being forgiven isn't enough, you must be born again. No dead men in heaven!

Much love!

Jesus said the thing that seperates the saved and the lost is a persons faith or lack of faith.

do we trust God. or do we not trust God.

Repentance from sin, and faith in Christ., where is that in your Salvation. ?

That's what she's asking you, and your answer has nothing to do with her question exactly as your theology has nothing in it that correlates with Salvation as God provided it, as forgiveness and imputed righteousness.

His Legalism Gospel is false., His (Originally posted) personal salvation testimony has no reference to Jesus, or The Cross, or being forgiven... So, this explains why He claims that Paul's Gospel, is "Delustion".

I suspect He will "revise" His Salvation Testamony, and the revision will have all the things that were left out of it initially.

1. ) Trusting in Jesus
2.) The Cross of Christ
3.) Forgiveness of Sin

No doubt that He'll eventually post a Thread or another Lame video, and insert those 3 into His Salvation Testamony, because they are not found in His original salvation testimony.
