Welcome to the world of one-dimensional Bibliolatry, Rella! :) Although you've been here longer than I, so doubtless you've encountered it numerous times before. If the Didache isn't in the Bible, it may as well be a Jehovah's Witness tract.

The Didache, along with tons of early Christian materials, can be read at the indispensible Christian Classics Ethereal Library: Cyril C. Richardson: Early Christian Fathers - Christian Classics Ethereal Library.

Odd that way more than half of Christendom - Orthodox, Catholics and large swaths of Protestantism - lack this "clear" understanding.
Yes, all those you mentioned lack that clear understanding of scripture. And, numbers don't justify falsehoods. "Few there be that find it". And remember Noah? 8 were saved out of the the entire population of the world at that time.

Do what? The Lord chose to not move anybody to include these writings in His canon... so this is not part of God's inspired Word. So, these writings are just like reading a book a well known preacher in our day has written.

It may have some value to it, but God's Word is still the standard that all other sources of information is judged by.

Anything in these writings that cannot be found in God's canon must be discarded. And I'm sorry to hear you get so offended over this which is not normal for a mature Christian.
Funny that not all bibles have the same books included... why is that?

The Bible has three major compositions. The word canon is used to identify the collection of sacred books that comprise the Bible. The canon of the Protestant Bible totals 66 books—39 Old Testament (OT) and 27 New Testament (NT); the Catholic Bible numbers 73 books (46 OT, 27 NT), and Greek and Russian Orthodox, 79 (52 OT, 27 NT) (Ethiopian Orthodox, 81—54 OT, 27 NT).

Sure all agree with the numbers in the NT but not interpretation.

Easiest example are those that claim the word until (or till) actually means ended or finished hence they can keep Mary a perpetual virgin. Mathew 1:25

So if considering a Holy Scripture, such as Mathew is thought to be and there arises a disagreement
how would YOU settle it... or at least attempt for this one never will be while we are alive.

Might you not look into often not thought of scriptures that are in the Peshitta.. NO YOU WOULD NOT CAUSE YOU DONT EVEN KNOW WHERE TO FIND THEM... RIGHT?

(she delivered Him) htdlyd (until) amde (he knew her sexually) hmkx (& not) alw (Yeshua) ewsy (His name) hms (& she called) trqw (the firstborn) arkwb (her Son) hrbl

Well good golly Miss Molly... that dang well does not answer what you want to prove....

So where else would you look....

A dictionery? CERTAINLY NOT... because that is not in the four corners of the Holy Bible.... and dont dare say
you would check out anyone's respected commentaries because just like you said.... " Anything in these writings that cannot be found in God's canon must be discarded." Which is true of every commentary you have ever read.... OHHHHH .. I forgot. You would not read a commentary ....

NOW... I am not upset or offended. I am amused.

I would guess you are either... RCC, Orthodox, or c of C. For certain you are not SDA, that is a given

I will tell you a truth, that others here will bear me out.

You say

"And I'm sorry to hear you get so offended over this which is not normal for a mature Christian."

As much as you battle with your defenses you also are an immature Christian looking for validation.
And if you are insulted... dont be.... I simply call them as I am encouraged to do so.

Lets finish this.

So we have a lot of differing books in the Old Testament.

Why is it do you suppose that the Protestants cut some of them out?

Why is it do you suppose that there are even differing numbers betwnn the RCC and the Orthodox?

Why is it do you suppose that none of these mentioned include the Book of Enoch. (fantastic read)
yet, the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church and Eritrean Orthodox Tewahedo Church consider the Book of Enoch as canonical.

Are they wrong? IMO, Not if you read it.

I would suggest you come down out of the clouds and enjoy this wonderful journey we all are on to our heavenly Father and Christ Jesus, our brother... and is nothing less then a study into our own genealogies and pedigrees for it is fact that we all came from a very, very long time ago.

The Lord Jesus influenced people to cut out the non-inspired books which is why we have the 66 books we have right now.

To say Jesus is not capable of controlling what goes in His canon is to have no faith in Him or His standing as God, being the faithful High Priest over His House.

This is where religious people with all their man made tradition and carnal minded religious training / commentaries lose their marbles because they really don't think Jesus can control what is in God's Word.

So their argument is actually against the Lord and they create strife between themselves and the Lord by accusing Him of not being powerful or capable enough to control what's in His canon which is not what people that Love the Lord do disagree.gif

The NT is the same universally.

It is the OT that is longer by some and did Christ Jesus cut it down to size during the reformation... probably, but I have never read or heard from anyone or anything that tells us it is wrong to not know of the things that are not in the four corners of the 66 books that Protestants go by.

I, personally, feel it wrong to not seek to know what else is out there from the gnostic gospels to my new found interest in the YLT.....

Mark 16:16 - He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

Acts 2:37.38 - Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

1 Peter 3:21 - The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:

Colossians 2:11-13 - In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:
Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;

Romans 6:4 - Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

I'm not saying one does not first repent, believe, and confess Jesus as their Lord and Savior. This is of course the first thing one does for initial salvation. Without doing this, one can get dunked in the water all they want and that does not make them saved.

After initial salvation, the Lord instructs us to be baptized which is a public demonstration and public acknowledgement before others that we are dead with Him and are raised up together unto new life.... it is making a covenant with the Lord when we are baptized, making a commitment, making a promise to turn from our old life unto living for Him.

This process is the starting point for us to start walking in newness of life, having a clean conscience toward God which is what actually saves us. Being dunked in water itself is not the moment one becomes born again as we should already be born again before getting baptized.

As mentioned in 1 Peter 3:21, having a clean conscience toward God having accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior, having confessed out sins before the Lord is what saves us.

Now... as we see the thief on the Cross next to Jesus acknowledge the Lord as His Savior (Luke 23:39-43)... and Jesus told this man that he was going to paradise, if one finds themselves in a situation where it's not possible to get water baptized, then they will still be saved if they have truly been born again.

Apart from this, we are required to be baptized because God's tells us to be water baptized in His Word.

Those having opportunity to be baptized and choose to disobey God's Word are disobeying the Gospel and the wrath of God comes upon the children of disobedience (knowingly disobeying the Lord is an evil desire, see Colossians 3:5,6).

Through the faith of the operation of God (Colossians 2:12) through water baptism are we raised up in newness of life (Romans 6:4) to have a clean conscience towards the Lord to walk with Him and we will be saved IF we endure until the end of our life abiding IN Christ.

In conclusion, if one has opportunity to be baptized and chooses to ignore and disobey Mark 16:16, Acts 2:37.38, 1 Peter 3:21, Colossians 2:11-13, and Romans 6:4...then the after life is not going to be as they think.

reasons, are unable to be "dunked in water", being in intensive care, homebound, bedridden,
disabled and paralyzed? What 'after-life' is for them, ya think?

How about The ONE Baptism for today, under Grace, in which "God, Who is not the author" of, But

Alright.

But what if someone realizes that their "church" baptism was no better then some pagan
hoopla and decided to get baptized as an adult because of Mark 16:16.

Then that person finds out their "church" does not re-baptize once one has been performed because their "church" regards baptism as a sacrament that was performed by an ordained minister... and is to be done once.... and only by an ordained minister, (lacking that by an Elder)

But there are several people of a couple of other churches who are insistent that that person's baptism did not count because according to one of those people baptism IS NOT a sacrament and was willing if one would travel 800 miles or so they would baptise the person themselves in their swimming pool.

So then said person said they would try to find somewhere closer to home and And started to talk to a few people for the person and their mother... they actually had a meeting with one pastor at one church who said he had clearance to , but except they would not do a private baptism... Eunuch style.... and the mother became uncertain to crawl over the side of the baptism font.. walking with a cane ... in front of people... then one church, different denomination said, because of steps I should contact their sister church and we had a meeting that lasted about an hour and he said he would get back to me.

Result, He was willing but others were reluctant if we were not going to join their church.

In the past 4 years I only found one other. It is a basic "come as you are" type and will baptise you no matter what your beliefs.

Now, due to the health of the mother and physical limitations of the other.... gonna have to hold onto that Pagan Presbyterian Baptism, done by an ordained minister, and with baptismal certificate... and if it is unacceptable to God I just pray my destruction is swift

IF you had read me entire post you would see that I covered this.

Besides, in most cases an invalid can call any number of churches in their area
and get assistance with getting baptized, even if it's in the bath tub in their house.

It's one thing to not be able to get baptized, versus being lazy and not putting
forth effort to get help due to not really believing God's Word so those who are
just being lazy and making excuses will be guilty of being disobedient.

I have never seen a modern... speaking of from the 1950s and forward that would allow for full immersion for if the head goes under the knees will poke out. On the side still seems as if shoulders would show as the water
would be draining from the overflow drain.
Only adults can get baptized and it be accepted by the Lord.

And only by full immersion. And cannot be self baptized, Cannot be in a shower. And as baptism started by
those came from those who were basically appointed by God. The Jewish Mikvehs

Read the Book...

"Mikveh: The Relationship of Jewish Ritual Immersion and Christian Baptism"

Barry D. Fike, Pepperdine University

Most Christians understand baptism as an undeniable doctrine of early Christianity. What most don’t grasp is that this practice goes far beyond the confines of Jesus and John the Baptist to some of the earliest recorded stages of the people of God, meaning that it has always been a part of the plan of God for the redemption of mankind. In this book, Barry Fike goes back into the Hebrew background of the concept of Christian baptism into the Jewish understanding of this ritual of cleanliness to show that our present understanding needs to have some backdrop to correctly identify a practice that has been discussed for at least 2000 years among Christians. While this isn’t the last word on the subject, it does raise significant questions and undeniable facts that need to be looked at in their original context both sociologically and theologically.

YOU of course know that

Depending on which Reformer you agree with, most Christians view baptism either as the means of salvation and entry into the church or as a sign of Christ's redemptive work in the converted. In both cases, the new believer is considered wholly regenerated, and baptism seals this radical change.

But when you read the book above your will learn

But in first-century Judaism, baptism had a different meaning. In the book of Leviticus, God instructs Jews to cleanse themselves from ritual impurities, contracted through such acts as touching a corpse or a leper. Washing primarily fulfilled the legal requirements of ritual purity so that Jews could sacrifice at the Temple. Later, as "God-fearers" or "righteous"

Eventually

Gentiles expressed their desire to convert to Judaism, priests broadened the rite's meaning, and along with circumcision, performed baptism as a sign of the covenant given to Abraham.
Dunkin babies is not baptism.

Question... Exactly how familiar are you with the Reformation?

The greatest leaders of the Reformation undoubtedly were Martin Luther and John Calvin.

Martin Luther precipitated the Reformation with his critiques of both the practices and the theology of the Roman Catholic Church.

Lets start with Martin Luther

The Large Catechism
by Martin Luther

Published in:
Triglot Concordia: The Symbolical Books
of the Ev. Lutheran Church

In part:

Part Fourth
Of Infant Baptism.
__________

Here a question occurs by which the devil through his sects, confuses the world, namely, Of Infant Baptism, whether children also believe, and are justly baptized. Concerning this we say briefly: Let the simple dismiss this question from their minds, and refer it to the learned. But if you wish to answer then answer thus: --
That the Baptism of infants is pleasing to Christ is sufficiently proved from His own work, namely, that God sanctifies many of them who have been thus baptized, and has given them the Holy Ghost; and that there are yet many even to-day in whom we perceive that they have the Holy Ghost both because of their doctrine and life; as it is also given to us by the grace of God that we can explain the Scriptures and come to the knowledge of Christ, which is impossible without the Holy Ghost. But if God did not accept the baptism of infants, He would not give the Holy Ghost nor any of His gifts to any of them; in short, during this long time unto this day no man upon earth could have been a Christian. Now, since God confirms Baptism by the gifts of His Holy Ghost as is plainly perceptible in some of the church fathers, as St. Bernard, Gerson, John Hus, and others, who were baptized in infancy, and since the holy Christian Church cannot perish until the end of the world, they must acknowledge that such infant baptism is pleasing to God. For He can never be opposed to Himself, or support falsehood and wickedness, or for its promotion impart His grace and Spirit. This is indeed the best and strongest proof for the simple-minded and unlearned. For they shall not take from us or overthrow this article: I believe a holy Christian Church, the communion of saints.

OK... now how about John Calvin.....

Here is a short summary statement of John Calvin’s argument for applying the sign of baptism to the children of Believers:

Calvin-2.jpg
John Calvin (1509-1564)
“Reason would tell us that baptism is rightly administered to babies. The Lord did not give circumcision long ago without making them (infants) partakers of everything represented by circumcision. He would have been deceiving his people with a sham, if he had reassured them with false signs. The idea is very shocking. He distinctly states that the circumcision of the infant is the seal of covenant promise. If the covenant remains firm and unmoved, this is just as relevant to the children of Christians today as it was to the children of the Jews under the Old Testament…The truth of baptism applies to infants, so why do we deny them the sign? The Lord himself formally admitted infants to his covenant, so what more do we need?”
JOHN CALVIN, INSTITUTES OF THE CHRISTIAN RELIGION, 4:16:5 (BEVERIDGE EDITION)

Further

Most Reformed and Presbyterian families embrace Calvin’s way of thinking when it comes to our “Covenant Children.” We understand that God has given each child to the Christian family as a “heritage,” a “reward,” and a “blessing” (Ps. 127:3-5). And, that the sign and seal of the Old Testament–which was circumcision (Gen. 17:7-9; Rom. 4:11)–has now been replaced by baptism in the New Testament (Col. 2:11-12). Standing on the promises of the Covenant of Grace, Christian parents are solemnly tasked by Jesus Christ “to make disciples” of their children by “baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” (Matt. 28:19). Lastly, they are instructed by the Apostle Paul to “bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord” (Eph. 6:4; Matt. 28:20). This is serious business!

Therefore, it is imperative that Christian fathers and mothers embrace the promises of God for each one of their children (Ps. 78:1-8). Consider the Apostle Peter’s striking admonition to his fellow Jews on the day of Pentecost, “For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself” (Acts 2:39). In other words, those who follow Jesus Christ as His disciples are responsible by faith to entrust the spiritual awakening of their own children to God’s gracious work (John 3:3-5; Titus 3:5-7). We do this by presenting our “Covenant Children” for baptism and by instructing them in the truths of the Gospel as they mature.

But I much prefer them over the alternative that was available in that day.

Don't you think it's odd to break fellowship over

Perhaps, or perhaps not.

So, i didn't watch the videos..

But, if any of these preachers are teaching that getting wet, is a requirement to be saved, or is HOW your sins are washed away, then they need to be outside the church building, and locked out.
Let them preach that Galatians 1:8 "cult of mary" nonsense to the parking lot, where they belong.
Why?
Because they are teaching that the city water supply has supernatural powers, and in fact, its the Blood of JESUS that is the redeeming Fountain that "washes your sin, white as snow", according to God.
And He should know.

Water gets you wet.
Nothing more.
Nothing less.

I am a woman. I can prove if need be.

I'll pass, I don't need to see stuff like that.

Don't be sending me no pictures in PM proving you are a woman and you gotta roar or whatever they call it these days./

Water gets you wet.

So you reject God's command in scripture to be baptized?

Did you tell the Lord to go pound sand you don't feel like following this particular command or something?

I have a few comments.

If you look on the surface. the argument is not really over baptism. Both sides agree God told us to be baptized. and both sides I am sure would say we are in sin if we do not get baptized.

first, I believe The issue or the disagreement is the gospel.

1 Side one said we must believe AND get baptized in water (works) in order to be saved

2. The other says say we are saved by grace alone through faith alone, (we get baptized because we are saved not in order to get saved)

Second, we have 2 different gospels here, they both can not be right. So as far as one side being "arrogant" or saying they are right, In effect. Only one is right. they both can not be right. Paul said if anyone teaches a different gospel. let them be accursed.

As far as baptism goes. there are technically four types taught in scripture

1. Ceremonial washings of temple goods
2. A baptism into Moses
3. water baptism (the baptism of John the baptist and Christian baptism)
4. Holy Spirit baptism, or a spiritual baptism performed by God.

# 3 and #4 are also part of the dispute. as one side states number 3 is required to be saved. the other said says # 4 occurs automatically at the point of faith and is the means of salvation.

Can you show where He rejected the command to be baptized? Did you really want to discuss these three things. or just push your baptismal gospel?

thou shalt have no graven images of the Lord

Get rid of that avatar and maybe get a girly avatar and your problem with this will go away!
When I was 4 years old I was going to grow up and become a cartoon. I SEE YOU SUCCEEDED .

But this artist who was used by God at the age of 4 to begin her art.

Her personal story YOU will scoff at... but no one should. She has been tied to another she had not met
and that tie was Christ Jesus and this depiction of Him.

From her basic story... (below is the link as I will run out of room)

The pivotal moment in Akiane’s life came during her disappearance at age 5. Authorities distributed photos of the missing Akiane, searched for her in cars and created a multi-agency team to locate her. Akiane says that she could see everything happening, but nobody could see her.

“I was able to see the exact number of search and rescue people, and all the vehicles and families looking for me from above, and that I was seeing everything in detail on many dimensions at the same time,” Akiane told WION.

Kramarik re-appeared as mysteriously as she had vanished – by the windows in the corridor of their house. Nobody comprehended what had happened – not even Akiane – but the experience changed the trajectory of her life – it connected her to the divine.

Akiane saw visions of God in her sleep, awaking to recite her dreams to her mom. Kramarik didn’t grow up in a religious family – her mother was an atheist and her dad a non-practicing catholic – but she found a connection with God.

“Simultaneous with art was a spiritual awakening,” Akiane’s mother, Forelli Kramarik, told Christianity.com. “We didn’t pray together, there was no discussion about God, and we didn’t go to church. Then all of a sudden, Akiane was starting to talk about God.”
..........................
After the move, Akiane resolved to paint the face of Jesus. She had a vague idea of his face but needed a model to base her painting on. Seemingly out of the blue, a carpenter resembling Jesus knocked on her family’s door looking for work.

This young girl on the left painted this awe-inspiring face of our savior.

There is NOTHING graven about it at all. It IS Christ Jesus looking at you.

Age-8-with-Prince-of-Peace Her painting Prince Of Peace.
“For many years a blurry image of the Prince of Peace appeared to me in my dreams and visions. Only after a mysterious carpenter came knocking on our door one afternoon that I knew it was the right time to paint the story of hope,” says Akiane. In Prince of Peace, painted when she was only 8 years old, Akiane portrays Jesus as the bringer of peace to the world.

Remarkably, the story of this piece is a real story of hope for Akiane. The painting itself has gone through many tribulations, including being stolen, recovered, then accidentally sold and hidden for many years.

Read our Magnifissance interview to see what Akiane learned about divine timing after her 16-year-long wait to see her prized painting once again.

It is well worth the few minute to learn about this young woman..... and then check our her other art at
