Commentary.

Abuse comes in many forms. A child can be brought up well clothed and fed with all his needs supplied except for the all-important need for love and approval. No physical harm is ever done to him, yet, as each year goes by, his spirit shrivels up inside him more and more, as a plant will shrivel without sunlight, desperate for the smallest demonstration of affection. Eventually, he grows to adulthood; everything seems to be normal, yet he is crippled inside by the indifference of his parents.

Then again, a child’s spirit may be broken at an early age—even though he suffers no physical abuse—by being constantly told that he is useless and a waste of space. Everything he attempts is sneered at until he gives up trying to do anything at all. Because very young children naturally believe what their parents say about them, the child who suffers this treatment will gradually withdraw into himself, retiring behind an invisible wall and simply existing rather than living. These children grow up never suffering physically at the hands of their parents but nevertheless crippled in their spirits. As grown-ups, they find it difficult to make friends and are unable to relate normally to other adults.

So, child abuse can be subtle. There is, of course, the more obvious kind—when a child is neglected, kicked and beaten and, worse still, sexually abused. The damage such abuse causes can last a lifetime.

Very true. My husband and I tried to help a needy couple by giving them shelter. The wife turned out to be abusive emotionally. This effected my son. She did these things to him. He still is hard and does not relate properly to other people. It affected how he relates to God, a father figure. He doesn't even believe in Him which is a shame.

I don’t think I relate to people properly either, because of the traumatic emotional abuse I too suffered growing up..so I can well relate to him.

In fact I had an incident today, where a guy ripped off my wing mirror down a narrow lane, he got out of his car then started to verbally abuse me and said it was all my fault....that was it, the old man in me came out , and I too hammered him with my mouth, he got right in my face and I said come on then hit me...he’d met his match, if it had killed me, I’d still have stood up to the foul mouthed bully gypsy boy.....,f,,....ing at me in front of cars that had lined up , as we continued fiercely arguing...anyway he got back in his car and drove off, I did the same..a whole wing mirror I need, that my mechanic said will cost around £100...

I guess it's different there...? In the US, he'd be having to rip out his proof of insurance, and with all the witnesses around, his insurance would be billed for your repairs. There also would be a police report.

I'm sorry that happened. I also had a bad experience .... actually two in one day (yesterday). I had to drive to the feed store for animal feed, bedding, etc. I was driving along, small town, 2 lanes and a center lane ...and I saw a truck pulling out into traffick from the opposite side of the highway. As I was approaching I watched him because I had a feeling he wasn't going to pull into the center lane to wait for an opening.... and I was right. He pulled across the far lane, across the center lane, right into my lane. If I hadn't gotten that discernment from the Lord, there would've been a collision. I had to slam my breaks to avoid impact. Thank God, no one was behind me.

Well, I didn't handle it well, especially since he didn't even care. I laid on my horn and sped up and went around him. (Mainly because I didn't trust this guy being in front of me.)

I got to my destination, and they know me there ....sweet people. One guy noticed I was shaken up a bit and I told him what happened. He said, "Thank God for good reflexes! Walk around and get your mind off it for a bit." And I did. I love that store! They like my little doggie too when I bring him in. :)

So ...I got in my car and texted a friend and told them what happened ..said, "Pray for safe travels home." It's only 10 minutes at best to get home. Lo and behold, 3 blocks from home, a SCHOOL BUS(!!?) pulled out in front of me and I had to swerve to keep from being T-boned. Sigh ....yesterday had an odd feel to it.

Sorry for the long post ...but yes, I can relate, sister.

Yes agreed, and later, so does she. She emphasizes that we are compliant if we do not stand up and speak up.


After finishing the book, I think everyone in the church should read it.

Zechariah and Ezekiel are in the old testament, Jesus Christ was not born yet on the earth. I know Christ has always existed along with God the Father and the Holy Spirit, but he did not have a human flesh body on planet Earth until the new testament, book of Matthew. Satan tempted Jesus when he was fasting in the wilderness, this was after Zechariah and Ezekiel. What about Revelations, where it describes the Anti-Christ, beast, and Satan as an unholy trinity in tribilation there is suffering and war, this takes place in the future, the earth is slowly destroyed by God the devil is in charge, people worship him except for a select few. Satan and his cronies are captured, Satan is bound with a great chain, thrown into a pit. After a thousand years, the Devil is released from the pit and fights the Lord, his angels, one last battle, loses, is thrown into the lake of fire, forever torment.

Revelations describes future battles between the Lord and Satan, I thought it was suppose to happen in the future.

I have had personal experiences with the devil, dreams, aggravation, voices, scripture, temptation. The Lord enable me to resist Satan. I must say 'no' to Satan and 'yes' to Jesus!
