Thanks for the history lesson
I think just an addition some what of the topic that was at hand. very brief but somewhat a window on the subject.

Joh said he liked Gough personally but that it was his Socialist policy's that he could not stand.

New Cars !
Not old cars. they will tax them to the hilt to get rid of them.
They will get New fuel electric cars tho.

But what about all the toxic wast from battery use of that scale ? Such will be huge burden of toxic wast for sure. but in the future one will not own your car at all, community cars will be the deal 1 car to 10 family's ? regulated !

You will own nothing and be happy ? that's what they are saying !

Well to who they want killed or to live will be governed as well, we see how abortion was championed by this Mob, so if one has that attitude where does such end ?
What kind of toxic waste you referring too? even gas cars have batteries smaller but still every car has a battery

If we look at the scale of battery's over all in 2020 and if one could understand what number of battery's that would be on the scale "if" all such cars trucks etc were powered totally only on battery's, such would be a huge increase in battery's we would be looking at ? now consider the wast product of it all in reality ! a huge problem of wast product that would be right their !
We do recycled your normal acid car battery's but electric cars don't use acid battery's and the wast of other battery's are a toxic wast problem. but the scale of such if all were ? that would be a huge problem in fact, but no one thinks of that because it's not a problem now ? but if it was all totally battery powered cars and trucks we would have a huge problem with such a wast produced on such a massive scale ?

No Fuel powered cars and trucks etc ? if that was the case now, think of all the extra battery's ! a petrol car has 1 battery some trucks have 2 but how many battery's does a electric car have, or how much do they all weigh as too mass ?

Not to mention are battery's efficient power relay, put $100 into powering up battery's and what do you get back from them in return ? not to mention when new they net a better return than when they get older ?

Electric car batteries don't make it to land fills or anything like that. The components are valuable they are stripped down reused recycled etc.
I've read a few company's are wanting to take old car batteries that can no longer push a car down the road but still can store energy and using them as Electric storage like a power wall.

I started driving gas cars in 1983, today I hate changing oil, air filters, water, check engine light and all that.

I'm looking forward to electric cars forget the hassle of all those fluids. tune ups and more, gas cars are really a pain in the rear.

Next generation electric car batteries can last 500,000 miles and more before being replaced I don't think I have traveled that many miles in my whole life.

When they start making batteries last a million miles, you have to put it in your will to grand children haha

California To Ban Gas-Powered Cars By 2035 - Videos from The Weather Channel
"California plan to ban the sale of gasoline-powered cars by 2035. Gov. Gavin Newsom called it one of the most significant steps toward the elimination of the tailpipe."

I'm noticing some possible global warming effects. Such as the the fact that in the past 5 weeks the USA has had 5 of the 1 in 1000 year floods. And these are floods that should only happen every 1000 years. Having 5 of them is not supposed to happen. https://www.accuweather.com/en/seve...ear-flood-event-in-us-since-late-july/1236445

So what do I think about California's ban on gas cars pending future action?

What I see is government control again. It's a blue state democrat dictator behavior. They get a problem and start dictating the public like it's not a free land anymore. Much like the COVID lockdowns.

We don't even have a viable solution to gas cars and the energy problem yet. And they're ready to ban gas cars, which will create a large amount of new problems. It's a typical democrat solution that just creates a huge amount of new problems that outweigh the solution.

We saw it with the COVID lockdowns dictated by the democrats and the liberal leaning government. And now we're all paying the price.

My assessment is that if the democrats get away with their dictating behaviors they will destroy this country.
This may be a universal thing. Same as ACT Emissions Reduction Minister Shane Rattenbury said the rules will apply to new cars, motorcycles and small trucks. “Our intent is that from 2035, you will not be able to put new [petrol cars] on the road,

Chevrolet has recently built the
Ultium battery it will last up to 600,000 miles before needing to be replaced. Tesla is designing a million mile battery.

The technology is improving quite fast and designers are creating new batteries with less rare earth minerals which is key to better batteries

@BeyondET Let's hope they can drive the price down of electric batteries.......(Otherwise politicians could create cartels of manufacturers who would charge what they like........)

Most manufacturers of cars will be phasing out gas cars even without states doing it. I think all the major players will phase them out by 2040. In the not to distant future no one will be able to buy a new gas car. Ford will be all electric by 2035

Indeed that's the most expensive part of the car but they are already comparable to some gas cars. The chevy equinox in 2023 will be 30k, all the manufacturers want to get the battery expenses way down. in about 5 years or so a person will be able to get one under 20k brand new

Yup, I'm looking forward to owning one but I'm waiting until they get the kinks out and charging time is improved etc.
I really don't like all the maintenance to gas cars, to many sensors to many headaches lol.

I should point out that there is one viable solution to the energy crisis. When I was in the military we used to have glow in the dark radioactive compasses that use radioactive hydrogen to energize fluorescent compounds with the UV radiation emitted by the hydrogen. Anyways, I thought that if they impregnated a clear polymer with radioactive hydrogen and then sandwich layers of solar cells together with this impregnated polymer it would create an electric power cell that could last for 20 years. This battery could power homes, computers, cell phones and cars, etc.

So the question remains: if we already have viable solutions to the energy crisis, why aren't we using them?
Because no one is willing to invest in the research and development?

Beckwith Electric had a development lab .....We were always creating more efficient devices for the electric utility industry. Bob Beckwith was an amazing influence, founder and owner of the company .....He also believed in UFO's and aliens....They got on this kick about being able to levitate ..... Part of that was from his being in the harbor next to where the Phildelphia Exeriment took place. Bob had worked with GE during WW2 and developed Sonar and Radar for the Navy at the start of the war. If you ever want an intersting read, look up Philidelphia Experiment by Bob Beckwith and Drew Craig ....anyway ...

Bob and Drew were in the lab trying to create an electric field strong enough to levitate a dead frog ....I wandered in and stood away from the research table to watch .......I looked over and stopped their attempt dead cold ....."Guys, is this what you are trying to do?" On the left end of the table was a metal disc the size of a quarter ......it was floating three inches above the table ....They were working with the frog and the metal disc was an unintended consequence of the experiment ..... As I walked away I commented "Captain Kirk encountered this is a Star Trek episode ...." I knew they first had to discover why the metal disc was floating .....then how to duplicate the effort constantly. Good luck with that ....

Newsome is a very corrupt monkey in California circus.
Great plan now for his base.
I don't think it has a chance of happening in 2035 after he's long gone.

No gas powered vehicles? What about Intrastate transports ?
No petrol stations, diesel?

Electric only?
CA learned how useless wind power was during the blackout not long ago. The local utility made that happen.

Electricity is derived from two sources. Nuclear, and coal mining.

Not very enviro friendly.

Keep in mind ......Cuba still has gas powered cars on the road that were there when Castro became Dictator .....Gas powered cars will still be on the road until all of us are long gone....1950's and still chugging away ...

The biggest question to be answered .....In the computer programming of the EV Car ...will be a program that reports directly to the state and Federal Government. So both can add the road use taxes to your end of the year tax report ......Roads have to be paid for somehow ...EV drivers do not pay road use taxes at the present .....coming their way shortly ....

Once the programming is in place, what else does the government decide they should know about you?
