We might weep for the truth but would it not be better to discover why Jesus wept and take hold of what he had in the way of purpose?
When Jesus was going to the grave of Lazarus he wept [see John 11:35]. Some say he simply was weeping because his friend had died. But, I would say rather that he wept because he saw all the people desiring more of the bread and fishes instead of more of God and the good things of God:
"O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!" Matt 23:37
And then when he was actually walking toward Golgotha to be crucified look at the advice he gave to those who were crying for him:
"And there followed him a great company of people, and of women, which also bewailed and lamented him.
But Jesus turning unto them said, Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but weep for yourselves, and for your children.
For, behold, the days are coming, in the which they shall say, Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never bare, and the paps which never gave suck." Luke 23:27-29
