[SIZE=11pt]Does anyone know those who had visions in of Jesus or the voice of the Holy Ghost, and who then acted on it and their impact was so monumental that it changed the course of Human history? For example Paul's persecution of Christians and then his vision which made him an apostle, or Constantine's vision in a Rome that persecuted Christians, after which he accepted Jesus and empowered Christians? Does anyone know any other historical figures (of any denomination) who changed their lives around, or who did something great, or who developed the foundations of a new denomination based on a vision or of Jesus or the voice of the Holy Ghost?

May God guide us all

William Booth followed the teachings of Jesus when Booth started the Salvation Army, which is a Protestant denomination.

there was a evangelist who told people God said he would die if they didn't send him lots of money..
and that money he Got changed his world .. he even became more wealthy..

does any one remember his name?

he was from the same camp of protestants as salvation army Guy.

my advice is to STICK TO WHAT God says in the bible ..unless you want to be swindled.

the guy when caught in false miracles blamed the peoples faith in Jesus..

my mother in law was caught up with this wack job..

when he could not cure her he blamed her..i wish one could choose what church ones in laws went to .. but you cant.

The sad thing she used her medicine money to send to this lie giver who sent her back worthless oils and his worthless word that he Could cure her So she kept paying..
She realized he was a wack job before she died and relied only on faith in Jesus that God gave her..

Ellen White was supposed to have seen many visions. She is one of the founders of the Seventh Day Adventists. However, anyone who has visions after having had a serious head injury are always suspect. While her teachings on doctrine do not seem very accurate, her instructions on health practices do seem valid today.

Paul was chosen for the purpose of receiving the revelation of how to live by faith in an unseen God without the presence of a temple, high priests and clear prophets.

Nobody close to Paul came after Paul as there is no need. No new denomination needed. Just good men who have returned to Paul's teaching / eradicated false teaching at various levels of importance.

I like William Seymour's vision of Christian maturity in metaphor of the Hebrew Temple.

Not a whole lot there! It is the thing done on our part that opens the door to further things in Christ.

As in the metaphor of the temple...

1. Justification - Faith opens the door to the temple
2. Salvation - Christ was out sacrifice at the alter
3. Sanctification - Conforming to a righteous believers standard at the laver
4. The Word of God - Growing in the word of God at the Table of Shewbread
5. Spiritual Light - E (Energy, warmth, love) / c2 (faith, hope, charity, joy) at the candlestick
6. Prayer and Praise - Sacrifices of praise at the alter of golden incense!
7. The Anointing - Picking up the anointing (unction-Chrisma) in the Holy of Holies

Dude,

Oral Roberts was in no way associated with the Salvation Army.
