Skyangel
It is just an easy term to use that all of us can understand....
For those who believe in the saving grace and the redemption through the cross for mankind , through the blood shed of Jesus Christ the Last and only perfect Lamb to die as a sacrifice for sin.
We know that Abraham ,Moses, and all the rest were not 'called' Christians ...but they lived by faith and promise of the salvation to come. Even King David too had the prophetical anointing and 'saw' into the NT , as shown in the Psalms...Isaiah also prophesied the same....so their hearts if not by name, where indeed " Christlike" from the beginning. God looks upon the HEARTS. He looks for His reflection ..which they all had.
Just saying.....
Hello Helen and anyone else reading this,
Why do you need an "easy term" to understand?
People who follow a false Christ still call themselves Christians and that is only one reason I no longer call myself a Christian.
Refusing to wear a "Christian" label however does not mean one does not live by faith.
I sincerely doubt that "God" would call himself "Christian" either.
God might look on Hearts but obviously Christians do not. They do not reflect Christ and his love for the world at all. They look for labels so they can place people in their "little boxes" much like those Jews in the bible who were prejudiced against the Gentiles.
Believers are supposed to have put on the "new man" not a worldly religious label. "Christian" is a worldly religious label and nothing more. The same label is worn by believers and unbelievers alike whether they follow a false Christ or not.
Being Christian does not guarantee you anything. Matt 7:21-22
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but
he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you:
depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Col 3:10-11 And have
put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:Where there is
neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but
Christ is all, and in all.
Shame on all the Christians who want to separate themselves from everyone else when scripture clearly says CHRIST IS ALL AND IN ALL regardless of their labels.
It is religious prejudice which is no better than wordly prejudice. They might as well claim to be "white" and reject everyone they perceive to be "black" from their little "bless me clubs". It is definitely not an action which encourages non Christians to become Christian.
Shame on the lot of you.
If you judge people unworthy to join your little conversations and treat them as unbelievers simply because they see things differently and don't wear a Christian label, according to scripture your own God will judge you in the same way. How would you like to be left out of his family?
Matt 7:2 For
with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
Light has no need to separate itself from darkness since darkness automatically "flees" from Light anyway. Darkness simply cannot remain in the presence of Light and remain darkness. It is simply impossible.
Light embraces darkness in order to turn it onto Light. Light never rejects darkness.
