The Christian life is to be lived as if it was Christ living, because it is Christ alive in you. We are so accustomed to just living as a me, just a me with Jesus attached so I can go to heaven one day when I die. That is all we have ever known, when I was in the world it was me and the devil and now I trade that for me and Jesus as a Christian. What is wrong with that, sounds good, better Jesus than the devil. That's true, but neither one was just an attachment, they were/are your very life. You didn't do anything before Christ apart from your nature, neither do you do anything now apart from your nature. It's like breathing and your lungs, they go hand in hand. There is not one without the other, they together keep you alive (crude example). Your blood and your heart, well actually it takes everything working together to cause life. Like soul and spirit, these two components can dwell in the same body and be compatible with each other.
Lets define Christianity in a nut shell; in Christianity out of all your troubles in life they can be solved by resolving the only true problem a Christian has, their soul-mind is not compatible with the new life or the spirit. We being led most of the time by the knowledge of good and evil will attemp to take control of the spirit as we had to do when it was sinful. Now the new life-nature (Christ) does not need to be controlled but needs compatibility with the soul-mind, Pauls calls that mind renewal.
To be honest I didnt really know what mind renewal was as a Christian for some time, maybe memorizing scripture, knowing where to turn to in the scriptures when I needed a word, I dont really know what I thought it was. But my understanding of mind renewal now is; the mind becoming compatible with the new Christ life nature in you by the scriptures.
Out of this we can see how to live life; life is lived by the Christ in you, the believer gives a mind to Christ who is in them and it is Christ that lives through you, as you are as your creation. Example; how is it we lay hands on the sick and they recover, when you lay hamds on a person it is Christ alive in you (you with a renewed mind to Christ) to do the healing. It is Nolonger you having a great ministry, you being the great healer that people flock to. That worked in time past because we didn't know better, but not today, not the way the Spirit is moving and bringing Christians to see Christ as their only life. There may be a handful that claims this and God may use some like this because of their ignorance but it is not the way things are being done today. We could possibly be living in the last hour, man has had his day, this is not a man thing, this is a move of God that will ultimately stay a God thing because it is pure grace and spirit. Man cannot attach their twist of how God moves and does things, those that have been prompted to move on in God do so by the Spirit.
