compared to Paul, who is/was Josephus?Paul called them Jews (see Rom 10 &11)

I covered that in my posts also. Why didn't you read my post before you commented?

The Bible history about the "house of Judah" (tribes of Judah, Benjamin, Levi, and a small remnant out of the northern tribes), are those whom Josephus was talking about that called themselves Jews. They were the small remnant of the "house of Judah" that returned from the Babylon captivity.

You do realize that there were TWO separate captivities of the children of Israel, right? The first captivity was only about the northern ten tribes which the kings of Assyria removed out of the land, captive to Assyria and the lands of the Medes. Only those of the "house of Judah" in the southern holy lands were left.

Then about 120 years later, Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, took the "house of Judah" captive to Babylon, and a small remnant of them returned. None of the scattered ten tribes of the "house of Israel" returned, even as it is to this day, as they became lost.

That is when the Jews of the "house of Judah" at Jerusalem-Judea became known as Israel because they were the only Israelites left in the holy land. This is how it still is today in the nation of Israel. It represents only the "house of Judah", those whom God promised He would always leave one tribe at Jerusalem for David's sake and Jerusalem's sake per 1 Kings 11.

Then they said to Him, “We were not born of fornication; we have one Father—God.”

42 Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and came from God; nor have I come of Myself, but He sent Me. 43 Why do you not understand My speech? Because you are not able to listen to My word.

44 You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it. 45 But because I tell the truth, you do not believe Me. 46 Which of you convicts Me of sin? And if I tell the truth, why do you not believe Me? 47 He who is of God hears God’s words; therefore you do not hear, because you are not of God

GUESS who JESUS said this too Wrangler . The jews who beleived NOT on HIM .
so you gonna call JESUS anti semtic .

I provided an answer in the other half of my post, which you didn't bother to quote. Here, it's right here:

> Jesus' mission of resurrecting/reconstituting Israel has SOMETHING to do with the tribe of Judah

The question was about “Jews,“ not the tribe of Judah. I’ll leave you to your anti-Semitic obstinance.

I well know about the "tares" and the history of the crept in unawares among Israel.

My main point hasn't really been about that though. It instead is how the crept in unawares, i..e., the 'tares', CLAIM TO BE JEWS of the seed, and they hide among the "house of Judah", when they are not of the seed of Israel at all. I'm not the one who first declared this, Lord Jesus did...

Rev 3:9
9 Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan,
which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.
KJV

Thus there are TRUE JEWS born of the seed of Israel, and then there are FALSE JEWS not of the seed that only claim... to be Jews of the seed, like those in John 8 which Jesus rebuked, yet somehow the Scripture shows Jesus agreed with their claim that Abraham was their father.

Are the "tares" also among those of the children of Israel of the ten scattered tribes? Yes, the evil basket ones are among them scattered with the ten tribes also. But those of the "synagogue of Satan" is about the false Jews that hide among the House of Judah mainly, and sit in Moses' seat of the law.

The phrase "synagogue of Satan" in Revelation 3:9 is about Judaizers within the Christian church. It isn't about Judaism at all. The Parable of the Wheat and Tares is about the spiritual history of the whole world, not the history of the nation of Israel. I don't know why you think otherwise.

Oh no....

The "synagogue of Satan" represents the "tares" in Christ's parable of the wheat and tares in Matthew 13.

They represent the evil basket of figs that were joined with Judah per Jeremiah 24, which was prior... to Jesus' coming to die on the cross.

They represent the crept in unawares of Jude 4 which says they were 'ordained' to that condemnation of working against Christ.

They represent Christ's greatest enemies on earth, as servants of the devil. They are the Canaanites and Kenites of Old Testament history. The last verse of Zechariah 14 shows when Lord Jesus returns, they will no more be in the House of God. They are the scribes and a certain crept in unaware group among the Jewish Pharisees.

I included what the Jewish historian Josephus said about the returning remnant to Jerusalem after their Babylon captivity. Josephus said they called themselves Jews which comes from the name of the tribe of Judah. Per Bible and secular history, the only Israelites that went captive to Babylon by Nebuchadnezzar were those of the "house of Judah", the southern kingdom. They were made up of the tribes of Judah, Benjamin, and Levi, with a small remnant out of the northern tribes that rejected Jeroboam's calf idol worship. The rest with them that went to Babylon were foreigners, the Nethinims temple servants of the Canaanite bondservants Israel was not able to destroy. Some of those had even crept into the Israelite priesthood (See Ezra 1 & 2).

So you are saying that the phrase "synagogue of Satan" in Revelation 3:9 has nothing to do with anything described or discussed in the chapter where it appears or in the entire Book of Revelation. It has nothing to do with anything that is an issue in the New Testament. I can't swallow this.

I have talked with people who pick up words and phrases from one book of the Bible and drop them into another book of the Bible, wherever they find it convenient. Are you doing this?

The Babylonian Captivity took place in the 6th century BCE; spanning the years 600 BCE to 501 BCE.
Josephus lived from about 37-100 AD, about 550 years after the event. In a world of few books(the ones that were did not last), no mass communication, no news articles, etc. How would he know any of this?
Even today, In a world of many books(the ones that last), internet, mass communication, news articles, etc. Much doubt goes into the question, "What's a Jew?" (Hitler seemed to have no problem answering that question.)
In Josephus' case, I would rather side with the Apostle Paul, who was inspired by the Holy Spirit in what he wrote

This thread is the most ill advised thread I have ever read in 30 years of internet discussion boards.
Nothing has ever been this ridiculous.
And that INCLUDES arguing with atheists and evolutionist and abortionists.
Personally, I think it has all the earmarks of rage bait.

It is your ignorance on display buddy. There is more than one sense of many words, including “Jew.” I meant the sense that makes what I write correct - and not the narrowest possible sense of the word maximize the chance that I’m wrong.

Honestly, the hatred Christians have for Jesus’ people on this site is appalling!

Agreed.

‘The Bible‘ also uses the term ”Jew” to refer to all Israel in the time of the Apostles. See Romans 2. Verse 9 specifically says the Jew first, not in contrast to Israel but in contrast to Greeks.
In the 8th chapter of John, Jesus is talking to Jews, and it does identify them as Jews. In verses 31-44, He tells them exactly who they are, particularly in that 44th verse --, 'Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do, he was a murderer from the beginning and abode not in the truth because there is no truth in him.'

Jesus was not being vulgarly nasty to someone with whom He was having an argument.

He was stating an exact scientific biological fact, just as you might say to a Chinese man, "Your ancestors were Mongolians." And He told the Jews who their original ancestor was, and He was technically and scientifically correct.

Jews are Canaanites (Amalek) by race; hence, both Yahweh and Christ despised that vile group. Who today says that they are the Judahites of scripture? but are not?
Wake up folks

Was Jesus born a Jew? Even if your absurd rationalization of John 8:44 were true, it doesn’t change the fact that other books of the Bible use Jew in a different sense. In Acts, Luke referred to Jews as the hono keepers of the law. In Romans, Paul talked of advantages of being a Jew In God’s divine plan.

Jews are Canaanites (Amalek) by race; hence, both Yahweh and Christ despised that vile group. Who today says that they are the Judahites of scripture? but are not?
Wake up folks

Wrong. The Jewish descendants conquered Canna at God’s command,

Jesus was born a Jew, wasn’t he?

Did you stay up all night thinking that above line?

If you don't really know your Old Testament history about Israel then why don't you say so.
