I was watching a documentary about the construction of the american transcontinental railroad in the mid to late 1800s.

Interesting factoids.

  • Transcontinental workers did not filter or boil water to eliminate pathogens, they drank it raw
  • Not knowing of germs, workers did not wash their plates or eating utensils
  • Not knowing of germs, they may not have showered much or practiced good personal hygiene
Imagine how those of past eras lived. Not knowing what bacteria was. Not being able to identify causes of illness or disease. Much less prevent those negative conditions.

Consider life was this way in the 1800s. Roughly 200 years ago.

Now imagine how much worse circumstances may have been 500, 1,000 or 2,000 years in the past. Back during ancient and biblical eras.

Reading content on social media, its common to see negative sentiments accusing people of not being the smartest or most knowledgeable.

Yet it could be fair to say that the least intelligent and least knowledgeable person alive today would know what germs and bacteria are. They might know to boil their water and wash their plates, spoons and forks. Shower once in awhile. Which could make them legit rocket scientists in contrast to those in past eras who were unable to learn basic and essential knowledge relating to biology.

We have much to be thankful to God for and do not know it.

We are blessed and we do not recognize it.

Could it be said there is little reason to be depressed or feel bad as long as human progress continues as a static constant?

Things are always getting better. Circumstances are always improving. Human knowledge is expanding. Standard of living rises as a result.

Problems which cannot be solved today, might be easy fixes tomorrow.

At a bare minimum, we could see our lives improve through God and Christ. Over time we could learn to make better choices. We could learn lessons which we apply to improve our own standard of living. It is mainly when we aren't learning or growing that circumstances appear the worst.

That's why God instituted ritual washings and certain foods to eat. That was passed onto us. Also, Priests were trained to recognize diseases and unclean persons were separated for usually 7 days outside of camp or city.

Fast forward to 1800's , the great rival was going on. These men knew the Bible, and the land was pure. No factory's dumping waste into streams. There was common sense survival, like don't eat uncooked meat. Perhaps they read in the Bible.

Mark 16:18 - they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

Evil men take all that knowledge and use it to further their evil. Tools for global domination are in the hands of a group of evil men who desire to subjugate all humanity to serve them and their generations. It's going to get worse and darker until Jesus comes, is what I think.

Much love!

@Space_Karen you pointed out some importants aspects of the word of knowledge being poured out in the last days. The responses are also well put together. Great topic!
