So.....I am currently dealing with a bully. He is trying to take over a therapy group I am running. He is a combat Vet, He is threatening members and hitting on women in the group. I have decided to remove him from the group - WWJD?

Is he really ? Or are all you giving him a hard time because of your own insecurities ? What specifically has he done no blanket statements or vague open ended explanations please.
Trying to single out the fact that the guy is a combat veteran is socialist profiling. Such statements reveal Aspen may have a personal bias against military veterans.
Someone in Homeland Security tried to do the same kind of bias profiling to state police departments, claiming returning Iraq war vets might be a terrorist threat. Christians were mentioned too. The head of HS had to answer questions at a Congressional inquiry because of that communique.
Janet Reno during Clinton's administration tried to do the same kind of predudicial profiling against the military also, claiming the main terror threat in America was from right-wing American citizens and ex-military and not radical Islam.
Aspen should be thankful that veteran is not a Muslim like the one in the U.S. military that murdered some of his own fellow-soldiers. Or maybe that one might have a Muslim connection and is not a true U.S. vet?
I would talk to him privately, he may need help.. let him know that your thinking about kicking him out of the group and just talk to him.

How could we possibly answer that question when we know so little information? Ask your supervisor.
I would suggest taking one or two others with you to talk to him privately. Try to come up with terms of ethical conduct that should be followed during meetings. If he can't or is unwilling to meet those criteria, maybe suggest providing him 1 on 1 or 2 on 1 counseling. If he seems utterly opposed to any help whatsoever in your unbiased opinion, then I don't see how he would receive anything from a therapy group in the first place and should be let go. And it might help to let him know that any decisions you make aren't coming from you alone. Just remember though he might consider you an enemy, we can always pray for those who hate us and let your love for him be a sign of God in you.
oh Tom, you are always so helpful...
Great post.
You're welcome. I try to be.

I've come to find, "Let the a-holes weed themselves out" is really good advice...

Actually, Aspen has the utmost respect for all veterans.......anyone can review how much Aspen admires the sacrifice vets have contributed to our country http://www.christian...12820-veterans/ and the commitment he has for helping them to assimilate back into society, I am simply wondering if my approach is Biblical.
Good post I have not been here long and have noticed that this aspen does have some problems and a borderline evil energy surrounding everything he does. It is odd that he feels the need to point out that he is a combat veteran I mean he could be a problem without being a combat veteran can't he ?
Hey Tom, just out of curiosity....have you ever written a positive post? Please give me a link, as an example....
Also, if you read the OP, you would notice that I am asking WWJD, not what I should do as a counselor....
Not sure if you understand the complex issues surrounding people who have returned from defending our country,,,,,,,they are heroes. AND they have problems adjusting to civilian life. No one can understand their issue, but combat vets who are trained counselors. I am not. I have referred this person, but he will not leave......he seems to think that his job is to wake everyone up.....ignite the same battle adrenaline that he lives with daily. So WWJD?
I didn't see it as a negative post at all.
