Hi there,

So this is my idea of a debate topic. The topic is clear, but it is unlikely to make everyone agree. The topic is this: the number one thing that Jesus wants, is for every one of us to humble themselves? Do we need to be humble?

I think God is abundantly ready to humble Himself. I think that's who He is. I think that Jesus copies Him. I think more than that, that when Jesus copies God and humbles Himself, in the Holy Spirit He is wishing that we would do the same - if we need to.

I think God is so wise about this, that it will always be something we need to think about. Whether our lives are long or short, we will need to humble themselves.

So, is it any question that I would start this thread? And do you wonder at all, what I am thinking?

God desires for us to be a humble servant , help those who need help , your neighbor .

Matthew 22:39 Context

36Master, which is the great commandment in the law? 37Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38This is the first and great commandment. 39And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. 41While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them, 42Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The Son of David.

2 Chronicles 7:13-14: - 13 When I shut up heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among My people, 14 if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

What God /Jesus wants of us is to be humble and to repent/turn from our wicked ways.

Being humble and not repenting or turning away from our wicked ways means that in fact we have not turned towards worshiping God with all of our heart and all of our being.

Just humbling ourselves is not enough.
