Did Jesus ever test anyone personally?

I hereby deem this an example of one person being tested by Jesus - sell up and become my disciple!
Luk 18:18-23

(22) Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.
(23) And when he heard this, he was very sorrowful: for he was very rich.

Now see, my adorable friend, to me this is not a test at all.:)
It was a condition Jesus had..in other words...'Sell and you can follow me....No? Ok, bye.'
Jesus made a standard , a prerequisite, but, that's not a test, to me.

No, I did not know about them! I do now tho!:)
Now, see, I don't see the test.
They simply lied to make themselves look more generous than they were.
No one was 'testing ' them that I saw. They failed themselves by not being honest.
That's how I see it, I mean.

And I agree Jesus' mission was not about testing...it was about love manifesting mostly as unconditional healing to those far and near..then in his example of immediate forgiveness (aka the criminal on his right), his self sacrifice, and letting us know Heaven is within...there dwells our Father...no more stoning...
....and nothing is what it seems here....you can overcome physical laws because spiritual laws also trump them.
(ie, sickness, death, water, gravity....changing atoms to appear as wine, etc...)

I know it cannot compare to Abraham and Isaac but, how about Peter walking on water?

I can see why some would.
But, as I look at Jesus and how he conducted himself...as I look at a mother and how she
encourages and powers up her little 9-12 month baby to take his first step towards her
open arms...
Do I see either as some test?
No. ;)

That was, as I said previously, a power word, "COME!"
And Peter was filled with his power and grace and faith and strength, and LOOK! ...LOOK!
At what happened! With one word filled with a focused, intentional command at Peter !
(Say to this mountain...)
There was no test...it was a demonstration extraordinaire....for all mankind, actually!

But even at that he needed to keep his eyes on Jesus. Perhaps that was the test. Then when he looked away from Jesus he started to sink, but he remembered who he could depend upon calling out, "Lord save me".

Just thought I'd throw it out there-I have no idea why people in the N.C. are not tested in the way they were in the Old.

He did tell his followers, to drink his blood and eat his flesh, causing many to leave. Perhaps he could have explained better instead of letting them assume he wanted them to become cannibals.

He did explain better to those that stayed with him...

While they were eating, Jesus took bread, said the blessing, broke it, and giving it to his disciples said, "Take and eat; this is my body."

Then he took a cup, gave thanks, 16and gave it to them, saying, "Drink from it, all of you,

for this is my blood of the covenant, which will be shed on behalf of many for the forgiveness of sins.

You too! Are welcome to come to the wedding feast of the Lamb of God!

It occurs to me God should already know the results of a test before it is administered. Does he still need to give the test then? Or can there be no foreknowledge of an event that never takes place and God truely wouldn't know what could have been?
