[Mark 1:15 KJV] 15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

What is meant that the time was fulfilled?

The time that the prophets wrote about are in view. The prophets wrote of the coming Davidic kingdom on earth, in which, believing Israel will inherit the kingdom and reign with Christ on earth for a thousand years.

[Matthew 11:13 KJV] 13 For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.

Some say the prophets ended with John. I say that this is not what the verse is saying. This verse is saying that what ended was the prophets speaking about the coming kingdom. Prophecy about the coming kingdom ended with John.

[Luke 16:16 KJV] 16 The law and the prophets [were] until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.hen prop

When John appeared, prophecy about the kingdom stopped, and the kingdom was then preached as being at hand.

No, prophesy did not stop with John the Baptist ... Jesus made prophetic predictions about his betrayal, death and resurrection. Caiaphas had a prophesy that "one man would die to save the nation" and John, the apostle wrote the Book of Revelation which opens with prophetic warnings to seven churches. Paul also discussed guidelines for how to prophesy in an orderly manner in his letters [which would be nonsensical if there was no more prophesy]. There are also several daughters in Acts who "did prophesy." [Acts 21:9]

The "Thousand years on earth reign with Christ" is false doctrine.

I like your evaluation
Some views defy logic........I have heard the view that the law and prophets stopped with John.....as far as the law Jesus upheld the law

I think it means that all that the prophets and law prophesied about was fulfilled in the generation of John - it began with the public preaching of Jesus, continued with the first Church, Pentecost etc. and the last period was 70 AD.

Since then, we live in the kingdom of God.

The "Thousand years on earth reign with Christ" is false doctrine.
Then where is this?

Revelation 20:4-6
4 And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.
5 But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
6 Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.

I don't think so

God "does not change", and "Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever."

Which does not allow for prophecy to end at the coming of Christ
--for the "yesterday" of Christ was that time of the prophets of old; ...and His "today", that time of His coming--including the time of His coming in spirit to the Gentiles, wass the time of His own Prophesies and that of His apostles; and "forever" He will send those of His choosing, whether a donkey or a king. As that is His Way.

There is some truth in what you are saying, as Jesus even said, "all these things will come upon this generation." Which is to say, "It is finished" is true in every way. And yet, just as what He came to do and finished at that time extended back to the beginning, it also extends to the end. He is The Beginning and The End. The "finish" then, (as Daniel wrote) was in the middle of days.

All of which does not mean that prophecy was finished at that time, for "Christ is the same, yesterday, today, and forever"--meaning it was He who sent those prophets of old ("yesterday") then ("today") prophesied of things to come, as did His apostles--and those sent to the Gentiles beginning with Paul, as He will do "forever."

It was not written today. It was written when Israel was in the land, the temple was standing etc. You need to realize the proper historical context.

And the ruling is spiritual and from the spiritual Jerusalem. It was never meant to be physical.

The context is not "what He came to do", but the OT prophets and the Law. The last part of it was John the Baptist. After that the Son of God came and brought the kingdom of God and there has never been another "OT kind" of prophet in Israel after that. Also, the Law ended with the destruction of the Temple.

You begin with a contradiction, for "what He came to do", is "the OT prophets and the Law."

And why does what you say not reconcile with: "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever?"

Everything after John would be private revelation as its known today. The bible is protected from private revelation - an example the LDS allows private revelation to change things and boy did it change.

It is not a contradiction. The OT prophets and the OT law were till Christ. John the Baptist was the last part of it. Then, it happened and the OT era ended.

"Jesus Christ is the same etc." has nothing to do with it, it is from a totally different context and even from a different book. Not sure why you want to connect it with the topic.

You referred to "what Jesus came to do" as being out of context--which is indeed a contradiction--because "the OT prophets and Law" is what He came to fulfill. And yet "It is finished."

But that did not "end" all in the way that you suggested, because the prophecies of old also included "the gentiles", that other fold which He "must also bring." What ended was only the first of "times" of "a time, times, and half a time", that time of the house of Israel of which He first came.

As for what ended at the time of Christ in the overall plan of God--every context--that was just the manifestation of what was finished even "before the foundation of the world." Even so, the second of the two "times", "the times of the gentiles", was also foretold by the prophets, and was yet to be made manifest and thus fulfilled also.

As for "Jesus Christ" being "the same yesterday, today, and forever"--the saying is true always and "forever." That's the point.

That is true except for "the mystery of God should be finished as he declared to his servants the prophets." Not "what" he declared, but "as" he declared. "As" defined as: "as (342x), when (42x), how (18x), as it were (20x), about (14x), miscellaneous (56x)." In other word: in the same way. Which was not to occur until the seventh angel "is about to sound."
