But let me ask you this. Would God have communicated to Adam sufficient to understand what God was telling Him? Or do you think God left Adam in ignorance with this strange and unknowable message, "you will surely die".
What do you make of this?

Luke 8:10 NIV
He said, “The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of God
has been given to you, but to others I speak in parables, so that,
“‘though seeing, they may not see;
though hearing, they may not understand.’

I remember wondering about that saying of Jesus when our Bible Study group was doing the Gospels. I guess Jesus requires us to engage the parables.

What good is that when they were meant to confound?
It's that pesky predestination question again.
Some are predestined to life and the rest are predestined to "destruction".
(but all will be restored/redeemed in the end) IMHO - The REALLY Good News!

God does not predestine anyone to go to Hell. (Destruction).

God allows a person to choose to not go to Heaven....(Free Will) ....by rejecting Christ, = never being born again.....on earth..... and so = they chose to remain "under God's Wrath" after they died.
If you're that one, you dont go to heaven after you die, because you can't be born again in Hell.

You seem to be claiming that we can save ourselves by an act of our own will.
I reject that idea. Only God can save.

The serpent made two claims: you will not die, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil. The first was untrue on two accounts. It did lead to a physical death, albeit many centuries later, but there was a more immediate spiritual death. The second was a half-truth. They would know good from evil, but that would not make them like God in all respects. I suppose Eve thought that being like God would be a good thing, but it was a deception that stripped away their innocence and caused them to rebel.

The text doesn't support that she was alone. The Serpent did approach her though. (rather than Adam)

The text is not clear on the matter, but 1 Timothy 2:14 says, "and Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and became a transgressor." If Adam was not deceived, then why would he have eaten the fruit? It would make more sense if Eve was alone when the serpent approached her. When Adam did find out, it was too late. Adam may not have understood the full consequences, but he probably understood enough to know it wouldn't be good. Regardless, I think he loved her enough that he could not bear to be separated from her. So, whatever her fate may be, he had decided that it would be his fate too.

You neglect to answer the question.

I'll remind you why Jesus taught in parables.

Matthew 13:12-15 KJV
12) For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.
13) Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
14) And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:
15) For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

I remember wondering about that saying of Jesus when our Bible Study group was doing the Gospels. I guess Jesus requires us to engage the parables.
Jesus taught in parables to conceal the truth from the unbelievers.

This does not mean God spoke confusingly to Adam.

Much love!

I agree, he pretty much committed suicide.
