There are two terms in the bible that will be keystone to understanding. First the term birthing, Jesus speaking of the cross said unless a person is born again they cannot know the things of God. Second is the term division, dividing soul and spirit and rightly dividing the word of truth.

I want to pinpoint something here and see if you have ever been capable of this kind of division. And start with the most extreme divsion you can make, that is Old Testament and New Testament. Look at divsion; Abraham goes back a ways, start with him. The difference between Abraham and you; Abraham was not born again, and you are so how can you find any comparisons between Abraham and yourself. The way Abraham served the lord and the way you are to serve the lord have nothing in common.

If a believer can make these kind of changes in their thinking then they will be able to rightly divide the word of truth. There is no Old Testament characters that were born again, there was no birthing in the Old Testament. In the New Testament there no Christianity without the birthing. We must hear Jesus, I can't use anything else to build on but what Jesus said, what Jesus said must happen before a person could know anything about the kingdom of God.

You can find alot of help from the OT, what God said to Isaiah is a blessing and the sweet Palmist of Israel, king Daivid one of my favorites of the OT. Solomon and the wisdom we get from him, what a great blessing, but you must see that you can only use it for life application they are not speaking to you. That is properly dividing the word of truth Paul said. What these men had to say will not apply to you outside of life application because it is the word of God, but not to you as a message.

Your message in found in the New Testament, you need a message, a gospel that goes with the new birth and that gospel is found only in the New Testament. The term used over 200 times of being in Christ, Christ in you, same thing, has been gleaned over for a lesser knowledge. We try to put together a message, a gospel out of all 66 books and it has brought Christianity to lesser understanding of who they are.

Because of no division in the word of truth, man has not been able to properly distinguish the difference between soul and spirit, leading to a tossing around like a ship on a tempestuous ocean. The only hope is the gospel because the gospel is going to point you to Christ who is your life. The gospel does not give one care about your doctrine, it could care less what you believe about the end times and when Jesus shall return. The gospel cares only to see the believer walk in new light of expression, using it (the gospel) as a lamp to your path and a light at your feet, shining away for you to see and growing up in him, Ephesians 4:14-15,

14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:

It all goes back to first principles; and in a sense the new birth in John 3 is the spiritual seed plot, so to speak, in contrast with Genesis as the physical seed-plot of the families of the earth.
