Well I see you didn't answer my last question.. How about this question to you. What did Jesus mean in saying this in His John 17 prayer:?
John 17:10 (KJV) And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them.
I'll address both your questions here...
You quoted Matthew 4:4. Good, let’s live by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.
But that means we don’t get to elevate one verse over the rest, twist it into a theology of inclusion for Christ-rejectors, or ignore the Word made flesh,
the fullness of God’s voice, who clearly said:
“No one comes to the Father but by Me.” (John 14:6)
“He that rejects Me rejects Him who sent Me.” (Luke 10:16)
“If you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.” (John 8:24)
Jesus didn’t stutter.
There is
no path to the Father that bypasses
Him.
Not before the Cross. Not after it.
So yes, Old Testament saints were saved, but
not apart from Christ.
They were saved
through faith in the promise of the Messiah to come.
The Cross works forward and backward; Christ’s blood is eternal, not bound by time.
“Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad.” (John 8:56)
“To Him give all the prophets witness, that through His name whosoever believes in Him shall receive remission of sins.” (Acts 10:43)
No one,
not Abraham, not Moses, not David—was saved apart from Christ.
They were saved because they believed
God’s Word, which
always pointed to Christ.
Now the Word has become flesh, and anyone who
rejects Him today is without excuse.
“He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.” (John 5:23)
As for Matthew 22 and the two greatest commandments?
Yes—love God, love neighbor.
But
how do you know God?
Only through the Son:
“No one knows the Father except the Son, and those to whom the Son reveals Him.” (Matthew 11:27)
So quoting commandments without
bowing to Christ is empty.
Israel had the commandments and they still crucified Him.
You also brought up John 17:10, as if Jesus was saying everyone "of God" is saved.
But
you cut off the prayer before it finished.
Jesus made it crystal clear:
“I pray not for the world, but for those whom You have given Me… for they are Yours.” (John 17:9)
“I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word.” (John 17:20)
There it is:
Faith in Christ is the dividing line, always has been, always will be.
So when you suggest that people today, who reject Christ, ban the Gospel and await another messiah can still be “God’s chosen,” you're
preaching another gospel.
And Paul already answered that:
“Even if an angel from heaven preaches another gospel… let him be accursed.” (Galatians 1:8)
This blasphemous, Scofield heresy that teaches a
race-based alternate path to salvation is
not faith.
It’s apostasy.
It exalts the flesh, denies the Cross, and blasphemes the Son.
There is
no racial clause, no ethnic exception, no dual covenant.
There is o
ne Shepherd, one Fold and one Gospel.
If righteousness comes through any other path—
then Christ died for nothing.
