Do you believe the Genesis account of Adam & Eve, or you believe it's symbolic?

We have to believe in the biblical account. I have watched documentaries that put huge holes in carbon dating so I stopped believing in evolution. That and they have never found that missing link between neanderthals and humans.

So- our original forefather was responsible for our plight.
How did it change from Death to Eternal Burning in Hell, complete with worms with Eternal Life so they can chew on us Eternally?

Depends on what you believe. I was taught that the fall meant we are predestined to sin. But are not held responsible until we sin. I think it is something that we are taught from our surroundings, to sin. But hell is death, it is spiritual death, which is what is discussed in the garden of Eden.

"Hell" in Heb/Greek means the "grave"; but religions have their own set of definitions!

The Creation Narrative is both literal and figurative at the same time.
It's Hebrew Poetic Literature written in a time when words written were extremely expensive.
The Creation and Fall narrative is not a complete history of a minutia of details that will bore your average reader....it's a narrative with truths that we must accept and internalize in order to have peace with God.

And this Narrative explains that it's not a complete retelling of every detail....that God keeps some things secret. (Trying to explain quantum mechanics or Newtonian Physics to a person fresh out of slavery where they made mud bricks every day their entire life is a lost cause when they struggled to understand the basic concept of undergarments)

So while there is a LOT of information in the Creation and Fall Narrative it is highly incomplete for the Book ""How to Build a Universe in 6 Days"

However....it is literal and figurative at the same time. There was a man who was an Adam and a woman who was a Hawwa (Eve).

These tags are titles and not something to put on a name tag. Jesus (His Tag) has several titles such as Messiah and "Adam the II"

This is Ancient Near Eastern Hebrew Literature....there never was an intention for this to be read flatly with no depth of understandings.

Well, it was written for mankind thruout all the ages, for those with limited education to the highest.
God CREATED man. NOT evolution.
