So when you pick up your Bible and read it, as you read those verses, is the understanding you receive, a reflection of yourself?

Just for example, but not to limit the discussion...

A loving person having a tendency to find the love in the Bible?
A cruel person having a tendency to find the cruelty in the Bible?
A judgmental person having a tendency to find judgement in the Bible?
A negative person having a tendency to find the negative in the Bible?
A person that interprets in the abstract finding unusual meanings in the Bible?
So is all this a matter of character traits....

Or

Is the Bible much more than inked letters on paper? Is the Living Word of God an intellect? Is the Bible reading all these people, and knowing their preconceived notions are set in stone and they are not there to learn but to confirm there feelings and beliefs, are they merely seeing a reflection of themselves?

My view is that I think if you are serious about finding out about God and you ask the Holy Spirit to open it up to you before you start reading you should receive what God wants you to receive from the scriptures, which may even be different things at different times..

No, I read the Bible.

And I have been transformed by them:

Psalm 19:7-8,11
[7] The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple. [8] The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes. [11] Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.
