Where in the Bible does it teach what you just said? Calling sin what God calls sin is not “condemning sinners,” and it is not inherently Pharisaical. Jesus said, “Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment” (John 7:24). Yet He also confronted sin and called people to repentance. “Except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish” (Luke 13:3).

Jesus did not excuse the woman taken in adultery either. He told her, “go, and sin no more” (John 8:11).

The Pharisees were condemned for their hypocrisy, self-righteousness, and traditions that neglected God’s commands. That is far different from comparing someone’s public words and actions with Scripture.

Then show me where the Bible says that warning about sin, calling false teaching false, or telling someone to repent is playing a “Pharisaical game.” If it says that, I will gladly accept it. If it does not, then you are placing something into the Bible that is not there.
When you stand in judgement of another, in this case Dolly Parton, you stand in judgement of God who has forgiven all her sins.
How she understands that forgiveness and what she does with it is her business with God.
The scripture tells us that Christ died for the ungodly, yes, he has forgiven their sins. Maybe you don't qualify or maybe you qualify more than Dolly? How do you see yourself?

Boy oh boy . JESUS was not LOYAL to man BUT TO GOD .
HE always went about doing what was BEST for man . including correcting . speaking truth . even warning .
And all them dinners he was invited too , YEAH t ry reading what he did every time he saw error .
HE DIDNT just burp and laugh and smile and get along and try and find so called common ground .
NO sir . HE exposed SIN . JESUS HONORED THE FATHER . guess what SIN DONT HONOR THE FATHER
NOR does the justfication OF IT EITHER .
BIBLE time . Oh how often i have said BIBLE TIME . You probably see me at the very least
as some kind of judgmental monster and at worst as probably an anti christ or the devil .
YOU NEED BIBLE TIME my friend . READ that book , enjoying and loving the TRUTH
THEN come back and we can talk a bit . The more you read that bible
the more you would have seen , IT AINT ME that is the hater
ITS THESE who hate , YE SHALL NOT HATE your neighbor in your heart , You shall CORRECT HIM and NOT ALLOW sin upon him .
THOSE Who holler judge not at those who are simply exposing sin , error , THEY the real haters .
ALlowing sin upon people , EVEN JUSTIFYING THEIR SIN as DOLLY DID . but you all love her type of chrsitanitiy .
Not gonna bode well on JESUS day .

Condemning sinners under the guise of disapproving sin has been the Pharisaical game for millennia. Its nothing more than a decoy dressed in pious words.....from ones own sins.
exposing sin is not even in the same camp as condeming one .
That is the dire problem with this generations version of the judge not . For not only did it allow
sin to remain upon the people , but this led to the acceptance of said sins .
And now is leading even to the acceptance of UNBELEIF as okay . Not looking good at all .
This generation that is probably under the age of forty was pratically raised in
the whole wrong version of love which is of the world but cloaked as though it is the love of God .
And it darn sure cherry picks and chooses to remove all severity of GOD in place of a false g oodness of God .
The devil knew exactly what he was doing and he used greedy leaders to bring in his so called seeker friendly
method . He knew the leaven would grow without correction , without grave reminders about sin .
The time has come , has been , and now is , that all who name the name of JESUS ensure its JESUS they follow
and not some other jesus . BIBLE TIME . Bible time for one and bible time for all .

Unless she actually confessed her sins and came to God through Jesus Christ, repenting and asking forgiveness of her sins ....she wasn't saved and forgiven of her sins at all. It's concerning that when asked, she talked about a force rather then a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Sister do you see what the problem is ............
THIS generation of christendom now BELIEVES that the MERCY and Grace and LOVE OF GOD
accepts sins , accepts unbelief .
Not realizing that the actual TRUE MERCY and GRACE and LOVE OF GOD
came to PULL US FROM SINS and UNBELIEF .
THEY preach a sin overlooking and accepting mercy and grace and love of GOD
THAT AINT THE MERCY , IT AINT the GRACE and IT AINT the LOVE OF GOD .
HE came to set us FREE FROM SIN , not to accept sin . DOLLY was lost . many are lost .
THEY SEE this other god , who is none other than satan as the god of love , mercy and grace
the god who has made the road to GOD very darn broad so broad it not only accepts sins , HECK it accepts UNBELEIF IN JESUS .

I understand what you are saying but I see people having different levels of consecration and sanctification.
Some (I call them the elect) have a deeper spiritual understanding and commitment than others.
The messages to the churches in Revelation chapters 2 & 3 indicate different groups in the Church.

It may be (and I am only speculating) is that God's will was for DP to be as she was to have access to those not normally reached by the Gospel.
I certainly do not hold her up as a role model for Christians to emulate.

A similar argument could be made for a movie like The Ten Commandments ... it might lead some to faith even though the values of the actors are not something that necessarily is Biblically correct.
I agree that Christians can be at different stages of growth and sanctification. A newer or weaker believer may struggle in areas where a more mature believer does not. But there is a big difference between struggling with sin and publicly defending what God calls sin.

Jesus said, “Ye shall know them by their fruits” (Matthew 7:16). That same chapter warns that the broad way leads to destruction and that many will call Jesus “Lord” only to hear, “I never knew you” (Matthew 7:13–23). So Scripture itself tells us not to simply look at somebody’s profession of faith or the good they may have done. We are told to examine the fruit.

I also do not think Revelation 2 and 3 supports the idea that God may have wanted Dolly to remain as she was in order to reach people. Look at what Jesus actually did when churches tolerated compromise. He rebuked it. To Thyatira He said, “thou sufferest that woman Jezebel... to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication” and then said, “I gave her space to repent... and she repented not” (Revelation 2:20–21). Christ did not say the compromise was useful because it gave them access to certain people. He commanded repentance.

Could God use something imperfect to cause somebody to seek Him? Certainly. God can overrule all kinds of circumstances. But that does not make the error itself His will. Paul dealt with that kind of reasoning very plainly: “Let us do evil, that good may come? whose damnation is just” (Romans 3:8). And Scripture specifically says, “For this is the will of God, even your sanctification” (1 Thessalonians 4:3).

That is also where I think the comparison with The Ten Commandments breaks down. A movie made by unsaved or imperfect actors might contain biblical truth that causes someone to open a Bible. But that does not mean the actors’ unbiblical lives were God’s will. In Dolly’s case, the concern goes further because she publicly connected her own beliefs with Christianity while saying things that contradicted Scripture.

That matters because influence has consequences. When young girls and others see a famous professing Christian presenting a version of Christianity where sin is accepted, everybody is called a child of God, and biblical judgment is dismissed as unloving, that can just as easily lead someone away from the true God as toward Him. A little truth mixed with serious error is still dangerous.

We have far too much of that today. It is a Christianity of love without repentance, acceptance without holiness, and God without judgment. It makes people feel safe while they remain on the broad road. That is not loving them.

And we are not commanded to sit quietly while that happens. “Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them” (Ephesians 5:11).

So I am not saying Dolly could never have done anything good, or that God could never have used something she did. I am saying we cannot take whatever good may have resulted and use it to excuse fruit and teaching that contradict God’s Word.

God tells us to test the fruit. That is exactly what we should do.

The scripture tells us that Christ died for the ungodly, yes, he has forgiven their sins. Maybe you don't qualify or maybe you qualify more than Dolly? How do you see yourself?
That is not what Scripture says. You are taking “Christ died for the ungodly” and turning it into “therefore every ungodly person is already forgiven.” The Bible does not teach that.

Romans 5 begins by saying, “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:1). Yes, verse 6 says, “Christ died for the ungodly,” but Paul never says that every ungodly person is therefore automatically forgiven regardless of repentance and faith.

Jesus said, “He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already” (John 3:18). John 3:36 is even more direct: “He that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.” If the wrath of God still abides on the unbeliever, then you cannot honestly say Scripture teaches that all his sins are already forgiven.

Peter preached, “Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out” (Acts 3:19). He also said concerning Christ, “Whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins” (Acts 10:43). Jesus commanded that “repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations” (Luke 24:47).

That is the biblical gospel. It is not, “Your sins are already forgiven, so what you believe and how you live is simply between you and God.” That kind of message gives people assurance God has not given them.

And no, examining someone’s public profession by Scripture is not “standing in judgment of God.” Jesus Himself said, “Ye shall know them by their fruits” (Matthew 7:16). John wrote, “He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar” (1 John 2:4). Scripture commands discernment. It does not command us to shut our mouths while somebody publicly contradicts God’s Word.

Nobody here knows what may have happened in Dolly Parton’s final moments. God alone knows that. But we absolutely can examine the public words, beliefs, and fruit she left behind because Scripture tells us to do exactly that.

The statement you made, “God has forgiven all her sins,” is the problem. Show where Scripture says an unbelieving, unrepentant person already has forgiveness simply because Christ died.

It does not say that.

You are offering assurance where God has not offered it, and that is not love. It is a dangerous deception because it leaves sinners comfortable while Scripture says they are still condemned and under the wrath of God.

Jesus Himself says otherwise. That is why so many people will be surprised where they end up having made their own golden calf to worship and not the real God.

“Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?” (Matthew 7:22).

Notice the word many.

These were people who called Jesus “Lord,” did religious works in His name, and apparently expected to be accepted by Him. Yet Jesus said:

“I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity” (Matthew 7:23).

So yes, it is entirely possible for someone to speak about Christ, do impressive good works, give generously, and still not be born again.

Jesus did not tell us to judge salvation by celebrity, generosity, gospel songs, or religious language. He said:

“Ye must be born again” (John 3:7).

That is the issue. Saying “Give me a break” does not answer what Christ plainly warned about. But I can see why you would like to change the truth.

The following is not meant to judge DP in anyway, but I do know you can't use Matt 7:22-23 without context.

Matt 7:19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.
Matt 7:20 Thus you will recognize them by their fruits.
Matt 7:21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
Matt 7:22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’
Matt 7:23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.

Key-words:
. Fruits.
. workers of lawlessness.

I agree with that.

However, there are no perfect Christians ... if I judged who were in God's will according to my personal beliefs, very few would qualify.

\When I worked as a school teacher, I taught all students the same thing, but my expectations of each student were not the same.
God knows the limitations of each believer and will meet them where they are at, and use them in that situation.
None of this changes the truth of God's Word ... it's just that some score 50% and only a few score 100%.

Dolly Parton Believed in God, but Was It the God of the Bible?

Nothing indicates doubt that her soul is with the Lord God.

It seems the poster's standard is the Bible, judging by the scriptures he used. What's yours?
Really? Where in the Bible does it state we have the authority to decide where someone’s ultimate fate is, heaven or hell?

Saying things like “I don’t know if the person should go to heaven,” at least implies usurpation of God’s role in the process And at most, reveals a god complex on part of the poster. Are you a Dolly Parton fan?

confessed all their sins?
Where did I say that? Biblically, we are to confess our sins ...confess that we're sinners, and we need the Savior, Jesus Christ, to forgive our sins. The concept is to confess that you're a sinner and that you need forgiveness. Every human born to this earth after the fall is a sinner in need of the Savior. If anyone denies they need Him to cleanse them, they are a liar and aren't saved at all.

Luke 18:13
“And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.”

Luke 18:13 (in context)
10Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. 11The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. 12I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess. 13And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. 14I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

1 John 1:6-10
6If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: 7But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. 8If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

Quote me anywhere on this forum where I've stated that I have remembered and named every sin one by one, or that it is a requirement for forgiveness. You won't find it. Why are you fighting this? If someone wants salvation, they first need to admit (confess) that they are a sinner ...and acknowledge Jesus Christ (of the Bible, as who HE SAYS HE IS) as the perfect sacrifice for their sins. Believing in "some god" or a "force" is not in alignment with believing on Jesus Christ.

John 8:24

“I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.”
