Some say part of the Jeremiah 50-51 prophecy was fulfilled with the overthrow of Cyrus II in 539AD after Persia conquered Babylon.
The prophetic full on destruction of Babylon has yet to occur. We know this because
their walls still stand.
Jeremiah 51:58: “The broad wall of Babylon will be completely razed, and her gates will be set on fire.”
The final prophecy will occur in God's good time.
It has been 1,988 years since Jesus left us for heaven.
The tragedy behind prophecy as I've lived it is, when things go bad many of us think the end is nigh. Because we've read there shall be signs and wonders before the end that will forewarn us.
The thing about that is the same as pertains to the second coming. No one knows the day or time.
And yet, when fallen people capture our attention due to their evil acts, many of us see that as end time, "any day now" prophecy being fulfilled.
We even tell ourselves, depending on these events time frame these last 1, 988 years, that AIDS is God's judgement, 9/11 was God's judgement, Waco was a sign of the Antichrist government taking seed, and Covid-19 is retribution for the world having turned against God.
Jesus said "this" generation will not pass away before we witness the second coming of the son of man in the clouds.
A generation is 40 years.
Jesus should have returned in 77 A.D.
Yet, we have ways of explaining why that didn't happen. And we keep waiting, and looking for signs, and claiming God is behind all evil that transpires on this human plane, because we make him mad acting out on two fronts. The fallen sinners and the unworthy believers in him.
While we seem to forget that God told us, he predetermined , predestines, all things because he is sovereign over his creation.
We plan our life, believe we make our choices, but God sets our steps.
A day is like a thousand years by God's reckoning. And a thousand years like unto a day.
Only he knows his meaning behind, "this generation".
Personally, I leave the unfolding of his prophecies to God. While realizing fallen and saved alike are following God's roadmap to a T.
We are what we are because God created us to be this way.
Let it ride. If we believe God is in control all we can do is be ready.
I was a member for a minute of a Rapture forum . I took my leave when the administrator deleted two news threads I opened.
He told me to keep my conspiracy theories to myself.
To this day that memory and chastisement still cracks me up for the irony behind his words.
An Admin. of a Rapture readiness forum telling me, anyone, yo keep our conspiracy theories to ourselves.
I say, let it come. I know man is what we are because it was predetermined by God.
When we hear of horrors befalling the world we presume to say we know why it's happening.
The worst excuse, for me as one who witnessed 9/11 happen on live TV, is to blame our present state on why God makes or let's it happen on ourselves.
No matter how large the event, or how intimately personal yet made public, the tragedy.
And to think after all that many of us prosthelytize. Seeking to lead more people to find Jesus.
Because he loves us.
