Mr. Phil Robertson got himself in hot water recently for taking a stand
against certain kinds of sexual conduct. But whether you disagree with him
or not, Mr. Robertson is on good solid Christian ground because gays and
lesbians are depicted in the Bible as shameful, indecent, and unnatural.

†. Rom 1:26-27 . . God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women
exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men
also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for
one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men.

Now, some of you are probably going to construe those remarks as hate
speech; but if you do, don't come after me; I'm not the bad guy: the author
of Romans is your bad guy. I'm the author of neither the Bible nor of
Christianity; and if you're not adult enough to discuss Christianity on a
biblical level, then maybe you shouldn't be on a forum set up for discussing
Christianity.

You know; I am really curious how in the world gays and lesbians obtained
so much respectability. I mean; for centuries their manner of life was
deemed extremely inappropriate, and now all of a sudden it has Federal
protections as if gays and lesbians are on some sort of endangered species
list.

Below is yet another amazing change in people's thinking.

Back in the decade of the 1950's, my sister, while in high school, got herself
knocked-up out of wedlock. So our parents whisked her off to an out-of
state aunt until her baby was born; after which she gave it up for adoption.
You see, in those days pre-marital conception was a disgrace; but nowadays
celebrities go on talk shows to boast about their illegitimate children; even
babies conceived with other people before their divorces are final; which is a
double whammy of adultery and shame.

But according to biblical Christianity, there's a reckoning coming when all
manner of sexual behaviors unapproved by God will finally be put in a right
perspective.

†. Jude 1:7 . . Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in a similar
manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and
gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the
vengeance of eternal fire.

†. 2Pet 2:6 . . He turned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes--
condemned them to destruction --making them an example to those who
afterward would live ungodly.

I read that all new marriages in California are now 17% (or even 19% ?) between same sex couples.

How long will it still be legal there to be straight?

Some are calling Phil a hero. He is not a hero at all. He made some statements and people got upset. That happens all the time. It desn't make anyone a hero. It's made out like he's standing up against someone. No he's not. He was just giving an interview. If he still stands by his remarks and resists the opposition, that is heroic. How many people make apologies when they get into hot water when they're really not sorry. I don't care for Phil or his show but I agree that it's an abomination.

So, what happened to the man who impregnated your sister out of wedlock?

The father of my sister's baby was a sailor in the US Navy stationed in San
Diego. He wanted to marry her, but she refused and that's the last I heard
of him.

Incidentally, my sister's daughter is somewhere around 54 years old by now.
The sad part of it for me is that I have a niece, and very likely an extended
family, whom I'll probably never meet; not in this life anyway.

He and others of his kind, are now using their power and influence,to legitimize this behaviour.

The gays are now flexing their political muscle.

People scream "tolerance and acceptance".....but it seems those things will not be afforded to Christian beliefs as well. It's hypocrisy, plain and simple...but you can't tell them that.

I don't believe anyone wins here. A true win is if A&E had stood up to the gay mafia and told them we are sticking by our man. Can you imagine how much money the silent majority would have gone out overnight and spent on A&E products? It would have been unheard of. A&E would be buying up ABC, NBC, FOX... they would make a killing.

Instead what they did is to drag millions of people through the mud and slap Phil Robertson in the face. Got Cracker Barrel in hot water. And then when like a kid with his hand in the cookie jar realized they had been caught red-handed, then they let Phil back on and slapped the gays in the face.

A&E slapped EVERYONE in the face whether you are against gay marriage or for gay marriage. They slapped everyone in the face and I think it stinks.

A&E has no honor to go whatever the way the wind is blowing and they turned a company like Cracker Barrel into something almost abominable to even support.

And I have no reason to like the Robertsons or their ridiculous show which I have never watched. So what? A guy said something in a magazine almost no one reads, something that almost no one is offended by and now heads are rolling?

I think society has totally degenerated when it has spent 11 days on such a measly issue as this when meanwhile the economy is imploded and unemployment is irreparably high and we are on the precipice of total Armageddon.,

homosexuals Judges is the reason .. laws do not reflect the majority's view.

Homosexuals help other homosexuals get powerful jobs that have authority..

in public schools colleges and also in the us .and state governments.

most of the states that have homosexuals marrying each other..

I would bet homosexual judges made the decision.

and it wasn't by the people of that state voting.

I believe Christ wins here. He instructed his followers to herald the gospel. He
didn't instruct them to sell the gospel; no, he only instructed them to herald it.
Well; Christ got his wish when Mr. Robertson said the things that he did; and I
have even more to herald; if that's okay.

†. Jude 1:7 . . Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in a similar
manner to these, gave themselves over to fornication and gone after
strange flesh

The koiné Greek word for "fornication" in Jude's statement is ekporneuo (ek
porn-yoo'-o) which means: to be utterly unchaste.

A lack of chastity is exemplified by a broad spectrum of sexual conduct
including, but not limited to: pedophilia, adultery, incest, shacking up, casual
sex, swinger sex, wife swapping, sex between consenting adults, sex
between consenting minors, sex between teachers and consenting students,
sex with a sex toy, sex with a mannequin and/or sex with an inflatable doll,
etc. To be "utterly" unchaste implies not just a preference for those kinds of
sexual behaviors, but an addiction to them.

The word for "strange" is heteros (het'-er-os) which means: other or
different. That could be taken to indicate bestiality but I think what it really
refers to is unnatural sex; in other words: men sleeping with women, and
vice versa, isn't strange but rather quite the norm. But men sleeping with
men, and/or women sleeping with women is rather strange; viz: queer;
which Webster's defines as: unconventional; in other words out of the
ordinary.

Now; maybe the men of Sodom weren't gay; but their preference for the
males instead of the females under Lot's roof indicate that they were at the
least bi-sexual. Since one is just as unconventional as the other then I really
see no significant difference between the two. A man, or a woman, need not
be psychologically gay to fall under the condemnation of going after strange
flesh just so long as they go after it.

I've seen people on the internet attempt to tone down Rom 1:26-27 by
construing it to be speaking of cult prostitution. Well; that doesn't fly. The
language and grammar of that entire section beginning with Rom 1:18 and
continuing down to, and including, Rom 2:1 is a per se indictment against
the entire human race. In other words: though someone may not be gay or
lesbian, nevertheless they'll find themselves accused of something
somewhere in that indictment right along with the gays and lesbians.

It wasn't Paul's intention to condemn any one specific group of sinners by
Rom 1:18-2:1. It was his intention to condemn everybody so that nobody
walks away unscathed. Are you a bona fide member of the human race?
Then you are under a class action indictment that doesn't stop with Rom
1:18-2:1 but continues with Rom 3:9-19. We're all dead meat: all of us dead
men walking, and were it not for Christ's crucifixion; all of us, without
exception, would have gone straight to hell. At least with Christ; some will
be spared instead of all being lost.

On one hand you're right. Jesus and the apostles told us to rejoice in persecution!

So in that case, that our beliefs are being dragged through the mud, we should rejoice in that.

I have never seen Duck Dynasty but am thankful for his courage and faithful words (though some were poorly chosen). We applaud those who speak up, but do we do we remain silent ourselves?

Our culture is suffering from savor-less salt. The liberal agenda has co-opted "love" and distorted the Biblical view. We need to learn our basics well and explain them to our friends and neighbors when this topic comes up IF we want to be faithful disciples.
