Elim & AoG people, when were the disciples born again?

(TallMan;59859)I ask because Elim & AoG people I have met say that you are born again WITHOUT the baptism in the Spirit, speaking in tongues.Yes, that is the AoG position. The Baptism of the Spirit, as evidenced by tongues, is believed to be a separate event. I don't recall the AoG having a position on when the Disciples were Born Again.

Well I am from an Elim background and I have not heard this before. You need to be baptized with the Holy Spirit to be born-again and speaking in tongues is not necessarily the only indication of being born-again of the Spirit. I have no idea when the disciples were born-again although I guess I could search the scriptures however, I do not believe that the Elim movement held any kind of position on that.

I am Catholic and I pray privately in tongues. I used to belong to a charismatic prayer group but that was many years ago.
Having the gift of tongues is a gift, not a requirement. Most importantly, it is not a badge of holiness.

I think there is some confusion over the definition of "born again". Having an emotional upheaval at an altar call, or having your life turned around is certainly valuable, but I don't think that is the biblical definition. Jesus clearly and explicitly defines "born again" when He explained it to Nicodemus: "you must be born of water and the Spirit". We are born again in Baptism which means dying with Christ and rising up with Him. Sadly, there is much division on the subject of Baptism. Getting back to the question:
when were the disciples born again?
It depends on how you define "born again", and Scripture does not give us every single detail. I can't imagine the disciples being disobedient on this matter.
