Thank you for responses Yeah, next year I have been married with the same woman for 20 yrs.
I never escalate the desires to anything more than thoughts. My youth is a different story though, but I have asked for forgiveness as I was young and at the time not knowing better.
But my desires are slowly diminishing I must say. I am aware of them and telling Satan to leave me alone when they come. He knows very well Jesus is the one for me.
Hello
@Turbulento.
Keep the thoughts out of the heart is a great lesson from our Lord Jesus the Christ.
Matthew 5:28 - Bible Gateway
Matthew 5:28 But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
You are married from what you said. I do not advise stating the nature of the temptations on an open forum and such as many watch here and not all are logged in. Some browse anonymously. Never the less I did like your assessment of keeping temptations from those who seek to do evil here on earth out of the following after that. Which is blocked at the thoughts.
I know Jesus desires for us to honor marriage and to take it seriously as married couples are joined one with another as the bible spells out for Adam and Eve:
Bible Gateway passage: Genesis 2:24 - New King James Version
Genesis 2:24 Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.
I will say a prayer for you and your wife and I know the Lord will deliver those that desire his way.
A question also:
If not, have you been baptized, confirmed with the holy ghost thru the laying on of hands as the bible spells out, and then received the bread and wine of the new covenant of Christ our Lord?
Those things are important. If we also serve God and his children (our brothers and sisters here on earth) then we have a more rich experience with the Holy Spirit. I can testify that when God blessed me at a time in my life for a purpose with a rich holy spirit level there is no sexual desire for hours. And thru immersing ourselves in his work here on earth we can have more holy spirit that way too. I know he blesses the sick and afflicted, dying persons, and disabled, homeless often times as he loves us, his children.
I enjoy the following message from Paul as well:
Bible Gateway passage: Galatians 5:22-25 - New King James Version
Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. 24 And those
who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
I enjoyed a time in marriage when I was married back then and never left the vow area and saw it as important as Jesus' spirit had directed me at the marriage ceremony. I am happy I did that even though we are no longer married.
Thanks!
