The things Paul was: Philippians 3:5-8.
As a Adamite: All these things are in you (Adam) at the cross. Carried in Christ to the cross and crucified with him. Everything Paul said he was, he suffered the loss of them by the cross. It is not a figure of speak! It is absolute event in Christ on the cross! it is finished.
Paul came to realize God killed out everything humanity was, and what made up the human being, on the cross. The cross runs deep..so deep it will be in eternity before we know the impact of what God did in Christ on the cross.
The world is fixed and locked into the knowledge of good and evil. Believers need transformed out of the old knowledge, into the new knowledge of Christ in you. We can not see all humanity needs to do is believe on the Lord Jesus Christ to be saved. Why is that? That is to much on us.. we want to pay for our sin. Take that to an extreme in the old knowledge.
In the old knowledge no one can be saved without doing something to get right with God. Some form of pentance! Our good cults all have pentance in them. People like to pay for their evil ways. What is wrong with that? You leave out the cross and the price that Jesus Christ paid on the cross. Religion is on the edge of cultism if you will. Because it is getting popular to do something in religion to be ok with God, leaving the cross out completely. They will expect you to do it dailey, but you will fit the mold of pentance, and therefore fitting the mold they have formed for you.
Paul would say "Christ has become no effect to you."
Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace. - Galatians 5:4.
Many Christians are coming to understand that. They have wore themselves out trying to be who they are; and God is revealing Christ in them.
Religion formulates gospels that do not fit men and doing, and your doing to be who you already are by the cross, by Christ in you the hope of glory!
Men love life - they do not like death! And Christ profits you nothing. The very thing they want and say, they preach against. Becoming as Paul says "enemies of the cross."
17 Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample.
18 (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: - Philippians 3:17-18.
Very subtle to have men do something to be who they are. It is an out right lie from Satan himself!
