They is fine, they do not mess with you.
My mum was staying at her best friends place out the bush and she had a pet spider like that ! and my mum sprayed it dead ! and her friend was freeked out that mum had killed her pet Spider.
Some Islands off East Australia have big spiders like that that the kids have as a pet for real and play with such to make things with their web.
Trap door spiders in the ground every where in Kingaroy QLD, you be working on your car laying on the dround and they is all their ! they do not hassel you, if you do not hassel them. We had Ticks everywhere and laying on the ground working on car and see them walking by, no problems at all ever with them but for the ones in the trees they are a problem. we had two dogs one a mutt and the other a pure blue cattle dog, taking say 50 tickes of the mutt a week on it's back ! but the Blue dog never ever had Ticks on it. as the hair is to tight to get in.
I seen a Mutt in Darwin we were working on a house and the owners left for the week and this mutt had just like our mutt but say 100 ticks on the poor bugger, so i grabbed some spray and got a trowle and wiped them all off him, the dogs love it when you get rid of them ticks.
Some mutts get one tick on them and that's it, they die.
